    Sounds like it's the least complicated. Just noticed your link has 2 switches and 1 receiver. Could I not just fit that and get rid of the current switch?

    thought about that and I'm tempted. Bit more faff, so just wanted to rule out a wireless option if it wouldn't work. I suspect I would need 'just' need to tap into the existing switch and add add the receiver into there, so both switch and receiver are live - but was hoping for confirmation
