    Advice on my pipe size.

I think the important factor goes back to my original post: What is the flow rate allowed by the taps (the bottleneck in the system). If it is very low, you wait ages and you waste water with large pipes. You wait less time and water at the same flow rate with smaller pipes. However...

    Advice on my pipe size.

Sure, a greater surface area to volume ratio increases heat loss, but the length of time you wait, and the amount of water you need to heat assuming flow rate is constant must be more in larger pipe systems no? This is assuming you are starting from a cold system, with no heat in the pipes...

Aqua board: For skimming or tiling?

Was wondering if you can do either tiling or skimming on top of aqua board, and can you tile in dry (ish) areas over plaster board? Also, where other than B and Q can I get it cheaply? Cheers!

    Advice on my pipe size.

surely water waste would be less, as there is less volume of water losing heat in the pipe work in thinner pipes?

Cheers everyone, lots of good information here. However, had a look around and I don't seem to have an 'angle tie' with my ebay bath! What are they, just little metal brackets or something?

    from an 8kw shower to a 10.5.

BTW, when you do the sums, power through the cable comes out at more like 46A. How come a 45A mcb is fine, will it not be more likely to trip?

Alert Electrical sells 10 meters for £18. Unless you spend over £50, postage is free. Wilkinson's is the cheapest place if you only need a few meters... its about £1.95/meter if I remember correctly. Cheaper per meter than buying a whole roll at B+Q, and you can just buy 1 meter if thats...

    stainless steel splashbacks

No, you can definately glue these on, but 7mm... seems very thick. Perhaps it should be supported at the base to take the weight, glue will simply stop it from falling forwards. Anyone recomend a good place to but such a thing? Screwfix sell them but recomend a DIY cut, which sounds like...

Electrical Wiring for a GAS hob...

Does it need to be as accessible as the oven switch? One of the reason I was wondering is because the hob actually came with a normal 3 prong plug.

    At war with a bath!

Assume nothing! This is the first time I have fitted a bath, my book says nothing about tying the bath to the wall, simply screwing the feat in place, though it does mention screwing an extra beam between the feat and using this as a base (not pulling up floor boards). Thanks for the tips...
