    its overflowing!!!! presume that the valve is plastic... (if its new) so the diaphragm aint likely to be worn out.... has it been fitted properly????? sometimes if the valve aint straight the float can play up??? have you tried adjusting the valve???? just guesses...

    why do you have to lift the old floorboards to lay floor tiles??? I'd be inclined to lay 6mm ply over the boards and fix with 15mm screws at regular intervals say approx every 6 inches. you can then poly bond the ply or pour self leveling compound. Dont forget to allow clearance fer the bath...

    i presume the big nut is metal???? if its plastic u could try a couple of sharp blows with an even sharper chisel... your new taps shpould have been supplied with back nuts so you will not need the existing ones if you can split them.

    have a prob connecting pan outlet to cast iron. the cast iron has a flared neck (female cast connector) which is about 7 inches wide... that is to say standard pan connectors are too slim to effect a seal... any suggestions??? cannot get access to grind off and use a pann connector extension...

    good advice bogstandard... dont forget to take a section of the cut out old pipe down to the builders merchats to make sure that the connector fits to new polypie soil pipe. At a pinch you could evn use a str8 pan connector... but best to encase in a concrete formwork.
