Potterton Suprima

I'll stick my oar in here... BigD, have you tried running the system on HW only for a period of 1-2 days, and confirmed 100% that this only happens on CH call? As this boiler is a heating boiler its PCB cannot differentiate between CH and HW call. If it is really happening only when CH is...

    Ball park figure.....

Never more than £300 eh? Maybe for one repair, but in a 10+ years old boiler which has been neglected for all of its life and never serviced he may find himself paying another £300 shortly after, and the thing will still be a noisy old wreck! I bet that no-one but Heat-team could those...

    Flowrate on mains shower

Thanks Chris, Mains is approx 2.5 bar working pressure, minimum of 22mm pipework from stopcock up to shower, then reducing to 15mm. Cylinder is a Range Tribune HE, P red V set at 3 bar for these I think. Thought that a 150 l capacity cylinder might just do it but if the flow rate is over...

    Flowrate on mains shower

What approximate flow rate would a shower such as this be capable of delivering: http://www.bathroomheaven.com/sp_showitem/2849 I expected around 15 l/m, but a colleague has suggested that they may be much higher (around 28 l/m). Can't find contact details for the manufacturer. Trying to...

    Rewiring - Electrics in loft

This is the consumer unit we have in at the minute. I don't know if they still make them this small, its just that if we put a new one in we may not be able to fit one which is any larger: [/img] (its the top one thats ours - upper flat of 2) Does it look like it needs replacing...

    Rewiring - Electrics in loft

I'm a non-part P gas-fitter, so not great on the lecky regs and need some advice. Going to get my flat (built 1910 ish, converted in 1979 to 2 flats) re-wired this summer, and I was wondering if the supply cables to the lights (which are run through the loft, currently not clipped or trunked...

    Blocked 240 calorifier

On this type of heat exchanger you could probably fashion something to attach it to a powerflush machine I suppose, but I actually meant closing the boiler off from the CH system, introducing some chemicals and running the boiler on DHW demand, then when heat is applied the chemicals would...

    New Blue Pipe (mains)

Spoke to Thames water about this, and the helpful person on the line said that I might qualify for the lead replacement scheme. Anyone here had any work done under this scheme? Are they likely to charge me? Oh, and hteng, was that £1000 YOUR fee, or what the water board charged?!

    worcester 24cdi banging/pump very hot !

Before you do anything you need to see if this new pump is itself turning. This is a simple job, just undo the nut on the pump if it is a Grundfos, and put a smaller screwdriver in the hole, if there is a grinding noise then it is turning. Next, turn off the power and with your smaller...
