you only need one for showers if the shower hose is long enough for the shower head to be under the level of the bath water

you don't need check valves where the water level won't reach the hole supplying the water. e.g. cisterns, sinks and baths

I don't know anything about boilers but it seems a bit weird that the bolier is kettling because 1) it is new and so efficient 2) the plumber put in a non return valve. Is putting in a non-return valve not standard practice then?

my table goes down to 12mm. the flow rate for 15mm is double that of 12mm. i wonder if the flow rate for 10mm is a little over half that of 12mm. so possibly if you half the flow rate for 15mm and then half again you might get a rough idea for 10mm
