    joining the niceic

I have joined NAPIT and their requirements include 2391. The trade test was tough and resulted in a UKAS Blue Flame certificate and supercedes 2391. Overall I am glad I went through it all as I now feel better equiped to do the job.

No offence taken, it is a fair point. I will be attempting to connect all the sockets on the back of the TV to a wall plate, so there is everything available.

    Outside lights from ring.

I want to use a 2 gang, one for an inside light and one for this outside light. I could use a non switched FCU at high level and connect it to the 2 gang.

    Outside lights from ring.

Is there anything wrong with wiring a switched outside light (switch inside) from a spur from the ring. (Apart from the fact that it will be a luminaire on the RCD side)

    What BS number is this?

Socket outlet is already wired in. I do, sorry. I have already purchased the MCBs Can you convert a 6 way CU into a 6 way split?

    What BS number is this?

This was the main switch in the old CU. I was going to replace it with a 30mA but I will instead be using a split CU with 100A main switch and 30ms RCD for ring, cooker etc

    What BS number is this?

    Doh, I knew that.

    What are those circumstances?

    What BS number is this?

Thanks Lectrician. Is it bad practice to use an RCD as the main switch on the CU. (Ground floor flat, the only circuits that don't require RCD protection in this case are 2 lighting circuits so I figured a split board would be a waste)

    What BS number is this?

Does anyone know what BS number this RCD is?

    RCD trips for Zs

Securespark, the R1+R2 at the furthest point on the lighting circuit is 2.01 ohms, the measured Ze is 0.51 ohms (TN-S). So Zs = 2.52 ohms still bellow 6.4 ohms for type B 6A breaker. As there is no fault on the circuit why would it trip the RCD on this circuit and not on the ring etc.
