I thought so. Do you think the examiner from the registered body will be fussed either way or will he ask/require whether it BC has been notified?

Thanks that is clear now. I was going to connect the cpc of the water heater to the piece of copper but I won't bother. Cheers

Yes good question. If the job is to be used for an assesment can you avoid telling BC,do the work, pass the assesment and then sign it off yourself?

Bonding in an ensuite shower room addition question.

Water supply enters the bathroom via blue poly pipe, then short length of copper to accomodate a stop cock then plastic all the way to the water heater except for 15cm copper bit connecting the plastic pipe to the heater.

Bonding in an ensuite shower room addition question.

So it is earthed via the cpc to the heater, so simple. Thanks.

Bonding in an ensuite shower room addition question.

The ensuite has a shower, basin and toilet. If all the plumbing is plastic except for a short piece (15cm) of copper pipe that connects the plastic pipe to the 3kw electric handwash water heater, will that need bonding and if so what is the most discreet way to do it.

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

    It is 50v but for construction sites/agricultural sites it is 25volt. 25/0.03 = 833 1/3 ohms

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

Thanks for the help Nozspark. I will try a second earth rod. Where does the resistance of the SWA fit in?

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

What would one do or change in this instance to make it comply

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

Yes below 25V for agricultural is correct. 133ohm with a 30ma RCD will be below 25V.

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

By the way, this is the best forum I have come across.

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

Would that be so that all eventualities are covered ie building sites etc

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

The reading was 133 ohms. I am using a 30mA rcd which by my calculation gives me a result below the 50V required.

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

Yes there is a mains supply. Can you explain why it will count the resistance of the suppliers earth.

    Measuring the Earth Electroded resistance

The earth rod will be used to earth a stable 50 m from the house. The stable CU is suppied from split tails, 60amp fuses via 16mm armoured cable. Is it correct that the measurement for earth electrode resistance is taken between the phase conductor at the stable end of the SWA and the earth...

    Armoured cable question

The tails will go to a 60 Amp SP&N Switch fuse then off to the new CU.

    Armoured cable question

Hi, new here so sorry if this has been covered. I have buried a 3 core armoured cable to supply a CU in a stable 50 m away from the house. I am going to split the tails using a henly block. I will be using an earth rod at the stable end. Should I connect the earth core to anything or just leave...
