Two new single ovens - do I need two cables to the Fusebox?

an oven of 3.6kw needs to go on its own 16A circuit. it will probably say that in the manual. some ovens have a cleaning cycle that use full power for 2 hours. thats why you cant apply diversity.

will cooker point cope with new cooker

you can run a hob and an oven from one 32A switch on a single 32A mcb. pompeygit was right. you use diversity. and 6mm t&e will be ok.

Wire gas hob into same outlet as elec oven?

you need to fuse down via a fcu to 3A. you cant connect the ignition straight into a 30A cooker switch if thats what you were implying

    Flex for hob

check the rating of the hob. should be a figure in watts. usually around 6000w for a hob. you should connect a 6mm feed from your cooker switch down to a cooker connection unit. then run 4mm heat resistant flex from that to your hob

    equipotential bondin

yea i see what you are saying i will have another hunt tomorrow. one thought that i have had is that the clamps may be in the next door property as it is a main house with 2 flats with the meters in the house. what if i disconnect the earths one by one at the MET and test? If the readings of...

    equipotential bondin

i've searched for clamps but to no avail. used a long lead and probes directly to the pipework and got those low readings. what im asking is do i have to put new clamps on or is it ok as it is bearing in mind that there definately is continuity.

    equipotential bondin

hi i cant find any earth clamps connected to the 2 stop cocks in the property. i did a continuity test and am getting around 0.04 ohms reading. does it matter that i cant locate the claps and that i can take it as read that the pipes in question are bonded? also need to extend the...

    rcd protection

umm just was wondering because its one of the ways that my h&s have said that is an acceptable way of dealing with the new regs
  14. S

    rcd protection

does this sound right? one way to deal with 17th regarding rcd protection if no rcbo's will work would be to take for instance the ring main out of the mcb and take it through a stand alone rcd unit and back into the mcb

    Isolator between meter and CU

half the places i work in dont have a tag on the main fuse so i wouldnt worry. and i dont personally do any major work eg new CU's without pulling the main fuse

    ovens on ring main

he could run it in 4mm T&E and put a double socket on the end of it. he can then plug in the hob ignition and oven on 13A fuses.
  17. S

    ovens on ring main

you wouldnt be able to plug both ovens into a double socket with 13A fuses in if the ovens are rated at 16A each. i would put them on their own 16A radial in 4mm2.

    New Shower Consumer Unit

wouldnt the rccb count as a single point of isolation? or are you suggesting a separate main switch to isolate that 2way CU?
