now that from july 1st most installations have to be on a 30mA RCD
do we need to RCD test circuits apart from sockets and showers etc.
i.e the things that have 5s disconnection times
havin some strange noises in the kitchen. pops like a fuse blowing but
nothings blown. there is some smell too but i cant work out what it is.
any ideas?
comms, are these CPN boards any good? where can you get them?
how can they be so cheap? works out less than a tenner
for each rcbo plus the board and main switch
splitting the lighting circuit is not really viable without major work.
maybe just keep the lights, cooker and panel heaters on one rcd
and the sockets, other panel heaters and immersion on the other
Fitting a new board in a bungalow
one ring circuit
one lighting "
one cooker "
one immersion "
two panel heaters "
Best way to connect?
Split with 2 RCD's?
Cheers
i've never had a problem in all the years that i have installed this way.
its in the regs to use diversity and even if you had it all flat out for a couple of hours then it would still be fine.
you're looking at about 15amps for the hob
and about 13amps for the oven
i would say that even if it was a complete re-wire ,
you wouldnt have to change them because a lot of
the time you would only be replacing the cable and
utilising the exsisting sockets etc
