No Central Heating only - fine on HW and CH or HW only

I will get some pics later when I get home but the valve has been removed and checked to see if the CH port is opening as it should do and was. It was exactly the same and the same thing happened with the previous valve which was only changed due to the body leaking where the cam comes out to...

No Central Heating only - fine on HW and CH or HW only

Yeah I thought either flow or temp differential - but if a lack of flow how is it all working in the mid position heating the DHW cylinder as well as the rads? I will only be able to post pics from the airing cupboard where the DHW cylinder, valve and pump are and the boiler - is that what you...

No Central Heating only - fine on HW and CH or HW only

The valve is a new valve fitted 8 days ago - how is it getting flow to the radiators in that case when in the mid postion? The problem has been around for years but I used to have the DHW cylinder stat set to 80 and the boiler stat turned down but I have a shower pump/valves and a kitchen tap...

No Central Heating only - fine on HW and CH or HW only

Yes the pump does continue to run indefinitely and tbh I am not sure if the boiler ever fires again for a brief run as not stood in the garage long enough - maybe that is the next step. The electrician when troubleshooting to rule out the wiring he had a meter on the boiler demand wire and...

No Central Heating only - fine on HW and CH or HW only

The valve was only replaced 8 days ago due to the Valve body leaking - but to answer your question when the DHW is fully up to temp and the room stat is turned up with the programmer set to CH on the valve moves to the CH only position and then the pump runs and the boiler fires - the feed to...

    Which Shower Pump?

Thanks - I will get a universal pump to be on the safe side. You mention 4 or 4.5 bar but I am struggling to appreciate how powerful that will equate to at the shower head - we currently have a Triton Power Shower in the en-suite -...

    Which Shower Pump?

The Salamander ESP100 looks very plastic I must admit compared to the Brass offerings from Grundfos, Stuart Turner and the CT Force Salamander! So do you think Muggles I would be best going for a universal pump in case I need the negative head with the pump work for the en-suite routing up into...

    Which Shower Pump?

I am in need of assistance on which shower pump to purchase. I have a standard gravity feed water system in my house and I have purchased a new bathroom and en-suite suite which includes in both bathrooms a 300mm square fixed shower head with a 2 way shower valve with diverter which will be...

    Hotpoint Ultima WF-860 F-08 Code

I am looking for some advice regarding Error Code F-08 which was flashing on our Hotpoint Ultima WF-860 washer. The machine was mid way through a cycle when it stopped flashing error code F-08. The drum was empty of water and I managed to open the door. When the load of washing was removed...

Lots of hot water but no central heating

Set the programmer to HW and CH both being on and then turned the room stat up to max, the actuator was off the valve body but did move to the correct position and then I moved the valve spindle to the CH only position by hand. It is hard to say if it suddenly stopped working as when we moved...

Lots of hot water but no central heating

Yesterday I spent some more time on this but this time I managed to borrow an infrared thermometer. I also swapped over the actuator on the 3 port mid position valve for the new one I hade to rule that out. I also checked the wiring again and managed to override via the wiring the stats etc...

Lots of hot water but no central heating

Have checked the pump and it is spinning fine and when in HW only and HW and CH the flow is fine so I am guessing the pump is ok

Lots of hot water but no central heating

Yes have had this problem for a while and cannot get a fix for it, I believe I did try the wiring changes temporarily as suggested by D Hallsham back in 2009 and think it made no difference and proved it not to be the wiring!

Lots of hot water but no central heating

Another update - last night I had the floorboards up on the landing to check for hidden valves and as far as I can see there aren't any and the microbore does not come off a manifold as I orignally thought just reducers to 10mm I was wondering whether the feed and expansion pipes or the pipe...

Lots of hot water but no central heating

I have checked and the flow arrow on the body of the pump is pointing towards the valve so it is the right ways round and it is going I to port AB on the Sunvic valve which is the pump and the actuator is on the correct way around although I have proved it not to be the wiring as manually moving...

Lots of hot water but no central heating

Am at work at the moment but will check tonight but am sure the flow arrow on the pump casing is pointing down towards the valve. Could it be the wiring is causing the pump to spin backwards even though it is installed the right way around. (Live and Neutral crossed!!) I can understand your...
