    maybe its because they have no (or virtually no) mass to retain heat, so maybe insulating them wouldn't make any difference. ..just an idea. not much one can do about that.

    when i was sorting out a bramble infested garden, a friend told me of his solution. Keep pulling up every bramble you see emerging... then fifteen years latter you move and its someone else's problem... i agree with above, use weed killer lol

    in my experience rabbits will attack anything, even fairly big trees, i think they think "its appeard over night so it must be good to eat".. even Holly! Only other way is to kill the little beggers..... unless you raise the veg on tables or something they will eat it or attempt to.

    Haveing done it myself...if you can aford it pay someone to do it!, they will make it look easy, which is very deceptive indeed.

    thanks for the answers... it is posible the pipes been frozen, its still not capped.. and the old back boiler pipes are still dripping (depite tieing up the ballcock, cos the valve leeks every so sligtly)

    take the new ones off and glue a slip of wood over the hole ... so that the new handle is on sort of a plinth (thin bits of wood are avalible in model shops, chamfer the edges with sand paper).... well i would anyway, cos filling hollow doors never realy works, it falls out or shows in some way.

    Epoxy putty is also avalible from Model shops..Milliput, it dont mind damp etc and comes in white (fine) and grey(course) googleing Miliput will bring up it manyfold uses.
