    Ariston combi probs and PCB

Nope dont think you should come and do diagnostics for free, never said that. Its different when no proper diagnostics are done and its a try this try that attitude that could cost me the boiler new price in no time. The settings on the PCB - thats why I asked how critical they are for...

    Ariston combi probs and PCB

yeh the setup procedure was in the manual and I could see they were measuring pressures, and I wondered if they were very sensitive or roundabout in which case I could of got the board working and got the guy to finish off. I even seen some older posts where people had changed them but I read...

    Ariston combi probs and PCB

well that is the problem with forums, its hard to see how things are meant. Best start again .. I have not stripped my boiler down as I dont do gas. I just wanted to know if it was easy to change the pcb. Hence I had enough respect of gas and you qual'ed people to ask in the first place...

    Ariston combi probs and PCB

Thanks Dan that is more the sort of info I was after.. but I do doubt they are 100% spot on all the time as they are only set by potientiometers and it would not be difficult to replicate the old setting across, at least until the boiler has a proper service.. however if they really are that...

Hi all Have an Ariston 24 HE MFFI (I hear some sighing :) ) It had some ignition problems some time ago, Axx type errors but I got a RGI in and he vacuumed around the sensors in the combustion chamber from what he said. She was fine after. Anyway that was several months ago.. now we are...

    Spur what if question

This badboy do .. http://www.screwfix.com/p/volex-13a-rcd-fcu/83049 Can you get Wylex MCBs like above but with built in RCDs (RCBO) that plug into the fuse section? I would like to protect my ring that runs the washing machines, dryer, dishwasher etc.. and this would be a quick route if...

    Spur what if question

There is one RCB in the Wylex for another circuit but the remains are Wired. I could get some more to modernise it a bit at some stage. I guess the house could do with a new CU altogether, ideally. So can you get FCU RCD sockets, or are they just RCD sockets?

    Spur what if question

Yeh, its pretty much above the original socket into the attic so about 2Metres. Its installed in plastic trunking up wall then straight through ceiling past some rockwool for a few inches then terminated. No MCB for Rings though, just wired fuses in an older style CU

    Spur what if question

Ok thanks for the info.. so you think that a FCU is just overdoing it as this problem could exist on a ring too, and my radial can handle 20 odd amp (2.5mm) ?

    Spur what if question

I dont intend to overload it but just think it should be protected against all eventualitys. I was thinking of putting a 13A FCU inline (maybe switched for convenience of switching the room off), but as the socket is 13A wouldnt it be more correct for it to be 12.5A or something (not that a...

    Spur what if question

Hi all :) I have run a spur to a double socket in another room, all done properly its from the main ring off a previously unspurred socket. This is all in theory.. There isnt much on the new socket as such, but of recent I have acquired a portable heater which can run 2kw at full power...

Anyone seen this - Tricity Bendix washer 850 - AW851S

Thanks for making me aware of that one. Ok I got it working after .. :) Rigged up a bulb to the brush wires to see if the Triac seemed to be dealing with any sort of load. Sure enough it would go on and off like the motor does at the start of the spin cycle. I was going to check for any...

Anyone seen this - Tricity Bendix washer 850 - AW851S

I did not clean the commutator, but the brushes did fit fine. I have even sat there with the belt off the machine, and spun around the motor with my fingers when its at the start of the cycle to see if anything happened, I would assume at least something would happen with the motor if the...

Anyone seen this - Tricity Bendix washer 850 - AW851S

Machine as subject. Is getting on a bit now, but the drum and all that is ok so decided to try to fix. It would not spin the other week so decided to have a fiddle around. Took the belt off had a look at the motor underneath, switched it on and motor worked ? So put belt back on. All was well...

    Joining wood

Similar to this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRnjDabKka4&feature=channel Ive done no calculations but when you actually look at the wood and lay it on its flat side ts not very strong (for that sort of span). As long as I can get the wood I want there will be no prob. I will try...

    Joining wood

Calculator is a bit too complex for me. My catalogue here has the following sawn treated wood. 47 x 100 45s .. 70,95,120,145 There is a 47x150 in kiln dried. Just has to cover the full 5.5m and I would probably have 500-600 insides. Still how would I join them ?
