Help - accidental drll into ring mains

I hope these solutions have helped you. Just a little info for your daughter Cabling should only go up, down, left or right ( and never diagonal ) from a given point i.e from socket to socket or a feed to a light switch etc etc and should in no way be just there in the wall with no...

BAN THE USE OF RING MAINS OR NOT

On average the price of work has gone up on this type of system especially with copper prices going through the roof. It just makes a very good ( well to me ) installation to have in a room, 1 inspection box, fed from the main board that then feeds everything within that room. Simple. As...

BAN THE USE OF RING MAINS OR NOT

Good input Dingbat. For your information I like the IEE regulations as they are one of the strictest in the would. It helps that there is also a massive range of materials that can be found in the UK. But with working aboard for some time i can now see there are different ways to prepare...

BAN THE USE OF RING MAINS OR NOT

Discussion is a discussion no matter where in the world i may be. As i am clearly making out a problem with the IEE Regulations and as this is a UK forum and is not restricted to UK residents. I will continue to voice my opinions. As for Spain a ring final circuit is in no way accepted...

BAN THE USE OF RING MAINS OR NOT

In a complete state i agree with you. But yet again if it´s broken which is very common, i think some other form should be introduced or even stricter regulation....It´s only an idea for something that´s clearly not correct.

BAN THE USE OF RING MAINS OR NOT

A 32 Amp MCB protecting 2.5mm cable is totally against the idea of the electrical regulations so why not change it ????
  19. M

BAN THE USE OF RING MAINS OR NOT

Your point is valid but it would not have to carry more than 32Amp as the weakest link is now the cable.

BAN THE USE OF RING MAINS OR NOT

Hi i wasn´t after a debate on what i´d rather use I was clearly making a very important point on the IEE wiring regulations. Whist i was working in the UK i can remember many a time, ring circuit broken normally due to the owner or cowboys splitting the circuit to add that extra socket...
