    underfloor heating - any good?

I have a neighbour who diyed his own dx system in his 4 bedroom detached two storey dwelling. It seems to run efficiently and I have been told his yearly bill for the electricity to run the pump is 600 euro. Considering oil would cost double this I dont think he,s doing to...

Can I use a Twin impellar pump to boost hot pressure only..?

Doitall wrote. If you have a pump with twin inlets then provide the necessary pipework to these inlets. Its not that difficult and no equalising valve needed. The OP is inexperienced by the sound of it and I doubt if he knows how to pipe in this valve. If he goes with an...

Can I use a Twin impellar pump to boost hot pressure only..?

MON5TER wrote Its pockets of gas arising inside a pump due to loss of suction head and may result in damage to the pump as the bubbles collapse. If cavitation and loss of suction head does occur, it can sometimes be cured by increasing the pressure in the system, either by...

Can I use a Twin impellar pump to boost hot pressure only..?

Water Systems wrote So you effectively doubling the flowrate on the outlet side where the pipes T together. Wont the pumps cavitate like hell being fed from only one pipe on the inlet sides ??.

Can I use a Twin impellar pump to boost hot pressure only..?

kevplum wrote Aaah, so the pump supplys a single cold feed of the shower only which was presumably gravity fed to the pump. So where did you fit the prv then ??.

Can I use a Twin impellar pump to boost hot pressure only..?

without knowing what type of system the OP has and then wrote Really. Can you point to where I have made an assumption that the OP has a cistern of sufficient capacity. ???? YOU on the other hand advised the use of a prv without even asking if the OP has a cistern.

Can I use a Twin impellar pump to boost hot pressure only..?

You would be better off changing the mains over to gravity as well and use the pump as per design. Your going to have a pressure imbalance using the pump in conjuction with the mains which I dont think is a good idea.
