    New Computer.

The only good thing about Dell is they are the cheapest on the market so they will suit your budget BAHCO, personaly though if you can afford it, avoid them. For starters they advertise their products with a TFT screen but in the specs its an analouge monitor :!: I live by the HP Pavillion...

    creaking upstairs floorboards

You will find all of your floorboards are not built around the walls & room layout, hense making it impossible to replace the floorboards. Our 1996 Barrett house (and our neighbours) has also had the most awful creaking noise upstairs, only in two rooms. After years of putting up with it I...

The drivers side of my cars lock is siezed. I am currently having to lock the door by using the passengers side. Can I just swap these locks over? There is central locking so would this cause a problem?

Gas Oven on full or nothing ????

Sandwells suggestion might sound more appealing as you get to eat a big cake at the end of his project  but... I had a similar problem with my gas cooker (but electric oven) which had a setting of 'on or off'. Picked up an internal thermometer for it for a fiver which was reasuring to...

Thanks Igorian, after a major process of elimination today I eventually got it sorted (the usb 1.1 ports caused a conflict with the new ones, I had to temporarly disable them whilst installing)

    usb 2.0 pci card error

Hi, I have just upgraded my usb 1.1 with a new 5 port usb 2.0 card. I had a bit of a probelm with the inital installation, XP did not recognise the driver and could not find one, I tried the cd that came with it but it said it does not pass the XP logo?. Anyway, I 'think' it has installed ok...

    Onspeed data compression

I just found out about this piece of software today when advertised in the paper and it seemed too good to be true. Unable to get broadband here also but I also feared it might be a con so thought I would start a thread on here, until I seen fido's post. The majority of my surfing does...

    Fish Mate Pond uv filter

Just bought a Fish Mate 8W uv bio filter for the pond. Thoroughly read the instructions only it seemed to have missed out one vital detail I am unsure about. What end do I place the pump and filter at? I am guessing the pump would go at the deep end and the filter to the shallow end but I...

    Hot Water from Cold Taps

Your cold water pipes must run parallel with your c/h pipes, heating the cold water up as it sits stagnant in the pipe. Every house has this for a few seconds but 10 sounds a bit much, unless you stay in a VERY big house

What is the best spacer to use for floor tiles?

12mm should be fine, remember that the grout really gives off that finishing touch for the finishedfloor. Only thing I would advise is to not go cheap on buying the grout and get the pre mixed stuff to prevent any inconsistency of mixture. I live by all of Everbuilds brand for quality for...

    What happens next.

Yeah me too. Our window cleaner does ours annually for a meer £12.50 and does a fine job of the underside as well. I would never fancy hanging off a ladder way up there
