I think he means he wants to know how to test the rcd to ensure it is operating properly. If that is the case, simply press the 'test' button.

    Cats leaving donations....

There is a plant on the market registered 'Scardy Cat' that claims to have a stench that cats detest and will not go near. It is called Coleus Canina and I seen it in the Thompson & Morgan catalouge. I have looked on their website but it is not on, probably because the advert in the catalouge...

    Over-wintering a pebble feature

I may get shot down in flames for this, but here goes. I have a pebble feature built into the ground with a 500 litre p/h pump. Rather than having to remove the pump throughout the winter could I get away with adding a touch of anti-freeze to the water so I could still use it. The only answer...

    house key

When I was in the States I bought a plastic imitation stone which on the underside had a sliding door, like a battery compartment for keeping a key in. I seen loads of different types of outdoor key holders, magnetic backing etc. I got my one from the Home Depot garden centre. I have never...

    Help laying ceramic floor tiles

Well I already told her she was wrong after masona's first reply and shown her his post (evidence) and the matter may be considered closed now. I will try to remember to mention that she might have been right after all. I am going to mark out all the approximate (all 92 of them!)...

    Help laying ceramic floor tiles

The missus seems to think that when tiling you have to start from the centre of the floor in order for it to remain 'even'. I was intending starting at the corner and work my way across. What is the proper way to do it? She's even laid a small wager on her answer being the right one! :o

    Help laying ceramic floor tiles

Screed, concrete...Im not sure. The whole downstairs has no floorboards just concrete or is it screed? :? Dont think Ill bother with the dpv stuff after all, it only came to my attention after reading the label of the tile putty that said you must use it beforehand.

Where can I get a template to install mains sockets ?

The B&Q near you is probably only a supercentre which won't have half the stuff that a warehouse has

Painting wooden windows help needed urgently

And always use no larger than a 1" brush for the critical cutting in parts. I always take the masking off within 5 minutes of cutting in and then you are left with the option of wipeing any errors away with a rag. You are obviously assuming that seen as the masking is there you can fly through...
