How would you get around this?

I think Dan is right, that waste needs to drop, it's the pipe coming up through the floor that's pushing it up.

How would you get around this?

That's a point, the waste isn't running parallel with the bath, looks like it actually goes up towards the end of the bath rather than fall?

How would you get around this?

If it's on display should it be on those legs, looks like they're the problem!?

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

Thanks all - all great feedback. I've always been pretty handy and enjoy taking things apart (and putting them back together again!). Really need to find someone to go out with, especially to build my gas portfolio, will go round the merchants again at the weekend. Thanks again Mike

    Water supply

What dilalio says - our toilet does this when the flush seal gets a bit limescaled letting water through, then the cistern fills up again.

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

That is true Nige! We did touch on power flushing on Level 2 but nothing practical based - is it difficult (ie: will I need training?) and how much are the kits?

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

Thanks, yeah I've done a few tap changes etc, my sister wants her bathroom done, my dad wants a new boiler (I can't do this on my own obviously). Got a number of other bathroom/cloakroom jobs lined up with friends or family that I can take my time on and build my confidence up. I'm in Bromley, Kent.

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

Cheers AGAS - I fully agree with you, I'm certainly a long way off being an expert and only experience will get me there. I'm going to try and cram in as much training over the next few weeks whilst I'm on my notice period, then get out into the real world. Just need to find someone that will...

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

Hi - thanks for the replies, re the plastering, it's just the basics in order to get walls ready for tiling more than getting a glass smooth finish for decorating, certainly wouldn't achieve that in 8 weeks. It should however give me enough skill/knowledge to make a bit of a living whilst...

Hi Dave, Thanks for your reply to my post re career change. How did you take the plunge in starting something completely different to teaching after all those years? I've just turned 38, have a mortgage and 2 kids so need to start earning as soon as but obviously need to ensure I'm skilled and...

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

Brilliant, thanks for the positive experience, certainly helps the self belief. How did you retrain - did you do an apprenticeship or just dive straight in after a college course? It's experience I'm after - passed all of the level 2 exams with distinctions, but still want some real life...

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

Yeah have done that, some were helpful, others not so - will do the same with the tiling shops once I've done the course. Thanks again, Mike.

    Anyone Need a Plumbers Mate?

Hi All, I hope this isn't against forum rules. I'm soon to be made redundant - this is coming as no surprise to me as I have been negotiating a way out for some months. As I knew I would soon have an opportunity, I have taken the plunge and recently completed my C&G Level 2 in plumbing with the...

Wall hung vs Back to wall

Wall hung for me too, we've got the Geberit frame, no issues what so ever and you should be able to get everything to fit. These also give the appearance of more space, something we wanted in our fairly small bathroom, worked a treat alongside the wall hung basin as you get more floor area...
