    Installing toilet - two worries

The elephant in the room, as I see it, is the distance from the back wall to the centre of the soil pipe exiting through the floor. I don't think a 'space saver' pan - connector will fit easily, and that the cistern will need to be fixed to a batten bring everything 40-50mm forwards. Of course...

    Honeywell V4043H1056 Motorised valve issues

As per BurnerMan, but, ensure all power to the entire heating system is isolated, as there is a live feed inside that metal cover, even if the time clock/programmer is on the OFF position. Learned the hard way. Edit, I see others think alike!

    A question for the remainers....

Should we? or, Could we? I well remember the change from £SD to 'new-money' in 1971, it confused the carp out of a lot of people. My grandparents who had a coffee-stall in the centre of town here, had to have a session of trading with pretend money amongst family on the eve of inception, and...

    Viessmann Boiler questions

8 out of 10 boilers I fit are Viessmann..... 1 in 100 are worcester. I always offer a choice of minimum two different manufacturers, (I suspect the price difference and the longer warranty period between say, the viessmann and the worcester, swings it for the viessmann) Get a magnetic filter...

Getting my head around Water Softeners

My customers who have one, love it. Until. the resin core splits, and millions of resin beads of microscopic size are released en-masse and block up valves, taps, shower heads you name it. I see one every six months or so doing this, all makes included, from the £300 all-in to the £1500 plus...

    Owen Smith

Hmm, lets see now, UK governments have negotiated with Irgun/Stern gang, IRA, and maybe many many others over the recent decades. (oh and they usually deny it to start with, of course) So yes isil/daesh may be the worst out there at the moment - by far, but who said "jaw-jaw is better than...

    Mouldy Shower Cubicle

if you do cut out the old and replace the sealant, make sure when applying the new stuff, that you spit on the tip of your finger to smooth it into place, then you can repeat the experience in six months. none of those namby pamby 'fugi' sealant application tools or white-spirit for me, oh no...

I need a connector that doesn't appear to exist ..?

Is that a 'poly-plumb' fitting? or early Hep2o? just saying that they do not all 'de-mount' in the same way as say, a speed fit fitting does.
