how does your lighting circuit work

doesnt the switches have to be on for the neutral to return through the bulb though?

how does your lighting circuit work

    Thanks very much

how does your lighting circuit work

so what i am saying is correct yea? the return path is via the other light? going through the other light and back correct?

    how about u F*** o** u unhelpful p****

how does your lighting circuit work

Yea so like im thinking is this correct if the last bulb pops the way back for the neutral is through the bulb before that is that correct, the neutral has to go through the bulb for it to be able to go back to neutral is that correct?

how does your lighting circuit work

so its way back to neutral is through the other light that havent blown is that correct?

how does your lighting circuit work

so can somebody please explain this, what if the last bulb is blown hows does the neutral manage to return to neutral if the path is broken because of the last bulb is blown ?

how does your lighting circuit work

that what i dont understand how can there be a return path if the bulb has blown doesnt that make the final connection with the return path?? Could somebody explain with the aid of a drawing thanks.

how does your lighting circuit work

yea so even if any of the bulbs do decide to pop, it doesnt have to go through the bulb first to get back to neutral is that correct? it just goes through the neutral cable that is connected, and what about the last light in the line how does the neutral get back to the board?

how does your lighting circuit work

How does electricity work? In your lighting circuit i assume they are wired in parallel? how does it still work if a lamp blows and does your electricity flow back through to Neutral

RCD AND MCB what can they detect?

    thanks very much guys!! :)

RCD AND MCB what can they detect?

so to finally finish it off A RCD can detect live to earth, neutral to earth, and the MCB can only detect live to neutral faults is that right??

RCD AND MCB what can they detect?

Residual current detection is complementary to over-current detection. Residual current detection cannot provide protection for overload or short-circuit currents. why does the enyclopedia say that it cant detect short circuits and you guys are saying it can detect live to earth faults...

RCD AND MCB what can they detect?

so can the rcd also detect neutral to earth and live to neutral???
  15. K

RCD AND MCB what can they detect?

so i have been seeing on websites it says that the RCD will not detect any live to earth, so i assuming that is wrong then, it can detect them is that right? it just cant detect overloads is that right?

RCD AND MCB what can they detect?

What can they both detect? can an rcd detect live to earth faults? or how does it work? and what can the mcb detect?
  17. K

Rcd tripping?? when MCB is switched on?

what makes you think its a live to earth fault? and yes no work has been done, what you mean by the neutral to earth fault having enough potential? what exactley does the RCD detect and the MCB detect?
  18. K

Rcd tripping?? when MCB is switched on?

It is your normal split load CU, 1RCD, and the rest NON RCD protected well the lady said it has never tripped before so if the Neutrals were connected wouldnt it off tripped ages ago?
  19. K

Rcd tripping?? when MCB is switched on?

so can a live to earth or live to neutral or neutral to earth trip an RCD? and for fixed wiring off appliances would you have to disconnect them to see what the problem may be as well?
