    Running cables behind plasterboard walls

im just giving my thoughts on this but have to mention that I am not 100% so please don't take my answer as gospel. From what I think as long as you run vertically or horizontally from the switch and then into the 150mm zone at the top where you wish to run horizontal, this seems to me that...

Water Mains - Bonding - SubMain Earth

not sure if i have read all the info correctly but it seems to me that as long as the 16mm cable is connected back at the MET, and that you do have plenty of slack in the 16mm cable, then what you could do is strip back the insulation and then attach this to the mains water pipe. Be aware...

HELP!! Most of downstairs light wont come on?

if by that you mean that you have now got three cables hanging in mid air out of a previous light pendant fitting then yes, you probably have killed the circuit. just make sure you turn off the power again to the light circuit before putting the pendant back up

HELP!! Most of downstairs light wont come on?

the reason the passage light comes on is becasue this will more then likely be the first in the ciruit, from there you have made a mistake somewhere (possibly). If you are unsure, you will be best ringing a few more electricians and hopefully one will be able to make it. or you could read all...

Crimping 2.5mm T&E for Towel Rail

well instead of crimping the ring together why not crimp each side of the ring after cutting it, then extending each side into the FCU, therefore keeping the ring and not having to worry about 2 cables into one side of eah crimp. Obvious you still have connections but it may be a better...

    Running cable to a shed

As everyone will mention the best way is to run a feed from your consumer unit, probably by the sounds of it this will involve lifting your floorboards upstairs then running the able thru the void under the floorboards to the rear of the property. then it will be either dropping the cable down...

    Fitting 2 Security Lights

well definetly cheaper then the 20 odd quid ones i saw :) Still think that it will not look to good on the outside of the house. But when it comes to the crunch if you need to keep the IP rating of the security light and if it is single entry then this is one option. Of course...

How to measure the physical length of a circuit?

but you can equate the length from the resistance as the OSG gives you resistance readings per meter. little bit of sums and you have your length :o)

How to measure the physical length of a circuit?

As long as you know the where the very end of the circuit is, this can be done from the resistance as well, and also what size the conductors are you could equate the length from the resistance of the cables and comparing it with the OSG tables of resistance for cables. could I use resistance...
