we're you using a roller,brush or pad? IMO i find that using a roller is best and for the final coat run in the same direction..... and use good quality paint for the final coat - b&q stuff i find is a bit thin.....

depends what kind of finish you want.... and if it's going to be in a position where it's going to be seen..... BUT if you work the browning you can get quite a smooth finish........ ps i'm not (or claim) to be a plasterer.... but i have plastered 3 of my own rooms (to a standard) that...

we've got some of that - i just painted it with ordinary emulsion - you have to give it a few coats and not brush too hard or the next layer takes the earlier layers off...... but it looks alright (if not a bit annoying applying the coats)
