    no perceptible drop means 1/4mb on water gauge or 0.25mb on electronic gauge over period of tightness test ( usually 2 mins in average size house )

    turn on heating and whichever pipe on rad gets hot 1st is the flow, all new trvs these days will be ok for sealed system

    light the fire then turn off valve on cylinder. when flame goes out pipe is empty of gas or near enough as to make no difference

    yes that is the gas off. however meter should be capped if work is being done in the house that could result in an open end on any gas pipe inside house. in case anyone should turn that valve back on

    i would change to propane. with end feed i would tend to heat fitting more than pipe. solder will run towards heat

    no several sizes available unless you mean tapping which is indeed 1/2"
