What? I didn't mean it in a pc way but in an anti paranoid overthetoppc way. More stating a fact also that this rule is widely disregarded that is all. I too am an ordinary working class person who favours commonsense restriction on immigration. I also would prefer to make English the...

    Fun

Maybe because I have a.s. i'm not as affected by that sort of thing. I find I can do a lot of things differently like that. kinda strange, maybe just some people can manage with that one. meh.

    Fun

I didn't get any problems with the last one. The first was a bit intermittent, I've seen the second one before.

Well at least like ofcom ultra-PCness is complaint driven then. There's a difference between anti racism, normal political corectness, and ultra political correctness, which is actually being paranoid.

Ag, I think one problem is France. They just send all their asylum seekers here. If they (EU countries) had a fair share, it would be better. I think we should have the trust in the EU that their countries will not be treacherous enough as to generate asylum seekers, and thus count nobody...

    I saw it, I wept

Ah, the speccy. I bought a +2 in 1998 for £5. Good times. I grew up on an Amstrad CPC 6128. I've never met anyone else who had one. Marvalous machine, and with a monitor, better than with the TV. That said, I got that in the early 90s from my uncle who was going to get an amiga (never...

    13 amp cooking appliances

I'm surprised that the hob uses less than 13A, I take it it has a separate connection? Might be a good idea to see if it can be permanently wired into the cooker connection, most hobs use a lot with all the rings on.

    What Happens Here On P-Day?

But unsafe. Plenty of people drink and drive, and suffer no probs. That said, I'm largely against part P.

    sound card

I have to agree with you in once sense AdamW, sound is an important factor. If you're spending more than fifty quid on speakers, or if you use a decent pair of headphones, you'll notice a huge difference if you buy a £100 soundcard compared to an onboard one or a £10 card. That said, if you...

    audio files to mp3

Assuming you are running windows, I reccomend 'Dbpoweramp'. Free download, can automatically convert CDs too. Good bitrates. Just a note on the codec used (LAME), can't do intensity stereo, so avoid joint stereo encoding in VBR or below 112kbps. Can also convert to OGG (great for a lossy...

    Got gas?

Or how about E$$o's Nigerian operations, where they are just interested in oil, and burn all the natural gas that comes out with it. (and these people are surprised they're the subject of one of the biggest boycotts...) What is coalite methane by the way? I was looking at some ofgem...

    DVD compatability

Plus you have to make sure that you buy the right type of discs. Ultimately it won't be as bad as the VHS/Beta wars because there's already a standard prerecorded format. Not all DVD RAM comes in cartridge form, most now comes as a disc, seems only to be the earlier DVD RAM recorders need it.

    Travellers! Land grabbing ****

I to a reasonable extent agree with what you say Damocles, and to whoever suggested founding vigilante groups, I think that mob rule is not best fought off with this, vigilantism is just another, arguably yet more extreme form of mob rule. IMO, as long as its not harming anyone else, no...

    Distibution board

Well, you see, not all of the circuits are going to be in use at once. And since the incomer must be protected by a service fuse of the same value, we allow for some diversity, based upon this assumption. It's perfectly safe, in fact most houses have three socket circuits or so, and many only...

    Distibution board

Yes, It should be okay. But you say incoming is unprotected? You mean just the switch is unprotected? I mean, you have a service fuse rated at 100A in the meter cabinet right?

    Very bad TV reception

It would be the problem if you have a lot of trees in front of you, often causes ghosting also. We also get a crap reception on Five in summer, since the frequencies for Five are often reused more frequently than others. In summer, we get interference from Lichfield, for example, and...
