REC dont care about earth... AND ESQCR Regs...

Blame Maggie™ Privatised companies trying to make a few more bucks. Sorry but I just hate the way RECs are being so cheapskate and irresponsible now. Isn't it in violation of some 1989 act? I don't understand that they should have this get out clause, like any other company they have to...

    TV aerial

I would have to agree with you, TV coax is a waste of space generally. I got a system with a distribution amplifier, and there is so much leakage from the cable. Actually not a bad thing this time, because it means that in one of the rooms, where the cable wasn't easily accessible and I wanted...

    Help please!

That must be one piece of mouldy bread, even if the wiring is relatively new in most cases. Either that or you shouldn't buy new wiring every three days. Once every 25 years is plenty enough. Sorry, It took me a while to understand that, these weird things we say in English. On further...

    TV aerial

The question is, do you need a new aerial, I mean if its installed on the wrong pole like the guy says it is, maybe the original installer was not that good anyway, and it may not be well aligned or something...

    Booze Cruise

How come we have a German Frenchman? Plus, I noticed David is planning to break the law by giving people fags. *Looks for HM customs in yellow pages*

    TV aerial

That's what I meant. Which wouldn't need a new aerial, surely could he not just try it out and replace the terminal block things if they rusted?

I don't know, but what does he mean water got in? To where? If it got in the little 'box' where the cable is connected, surely it's just a case of draining that out/replacing the connectors if they rusted (usually fairly standard). That said, it should be on the right roof!

    Converting single to duoble socket

That doesn't apply to minor electrical work, like changing a socket, adding a socket, changing a light fitting etc.

I believe I have a monitor with a similar problem then... and I was about to throw it away, I might check that, sounds worth fixing if that's the problem.

Like the Libyans? Yaah, okay, it's made from green fabric, but it's blank. Blank green fabric it is!

I don't know, but since I read it in a BBC report somewhere, I took it to be credible.

Seems that Mr. Brown (good ole gordy!) has scaled down the plan. Appears the plan originates from 'culture' secretary Tessa Jowell. Never liked her in the first place, if this harms her career all the better. She's more Blairite than Blair. Always knew she was the enemy within.

Why would Scotia be more appropriate? I believe that the Scottish Gaelic for Scotland is 'Alba'. Look at the ident on BBC Two Scotland before the Gaelic programming, it says BBC Two Alba

The Union flag is NOT our official flag. It is used de facto. It it technically the ROYAL flag - i.e. the queen's private flag. Neither do we have an official language - outside of Wales or the Scottish Western Isles. So there you have it. The suggested flag is as official as the...

    Try out OPERA & FireFox

Firefox simply rules. I can't believe how slow and frustrating MSIE is after I use Firefox. That and it means I can use the same browser in windows and GNUlinux, which makes things easier and generally nicer.

I dream of the day when britain flies this flag: Only problem being it will be confused with Hungary's flag. Maybe I should design a new one.

Because the English don't have a separatist movement or party. Well, there are the English Democrats, but they're not exactly a REAL movment, now, are they? That and they're right wing extremist idiots now.

    system freezing

Also check the voltages on your PSU with a multimeter. Do this while the PC is runnning. You should make sure that you are not overloading your PSU. Reseat all memory, graphics cards, expansion cards, and the CPU. Clean any excessively dusty components, using compressed air, or a low...

    Word problem

Check you are printing the right paper size - like A4 in europe or Letter in North America. You should also check your printer settings, some printers, notably old laser ones seem to have a large bottom margin, and will simply chop anything at the extreme top, bottom or sides off the page...

    geothermal

It's a closed loop system, so I'd imagine there is very little servicing. Especially considering you should have your gas boiler serviced every year... I can't see a geothermal pump requiring the sort of servicing gas or oil needs.
