    foxhunting ban?

What I was meaning was that the MPs voted by a large majority to have hunting with hounds banned.

    Have you got wind?

Ah, and of course, somebody called 'oilman' would not have any unfair bias commenting upon windfarms  I think that wind farms are needed, and also some other methods of energy production. I would like to see an end to restrictions for planning permissions even in most conservation...

    foxhunting ban?

Chris, I was sort of aware on your point of it not being tradition. I always had thought that the Norman-French aristocrats had imported it. Another thing I see is how the hunting people are saying that use of the parliament act would be 'undemocratic'. On the contrary, I think anyone can...

    ANOTHER FUEL GRIPE

We're actually not the most taxed oil nations. Remember, that these are COMAPNIES. The sole purpose of private business is to screw the other person. So they rely upon people not noticing and trousering the extra money.

    replacing cu

    1. (being over critical) Surely you mean 30mA. A 30MA RCD would be as much use as a condom machine in the Vatican. 2. Standard question to stop incompetent people installing CUs: Describe TT, TN-S, and TN-C-S supplies, and what supply you have. 3. As for the shower, how many amps is...

    foxhunting ban?

I'm all for the ban. The thing I don't understand is how people are supposedly ruining 'tradition'. Since when was that an excuse? In Formosa, now Taiwan, they complained when the emporer outlawed their 'tradition' of a monthly human sacrifice. I suppose the country alliance would allow...

what music a 5yr old listens to

Quite a good thing that people get into music at a young age. I think it would be a good thing to make them avoid manufactured music, I am quite into dance, hopefully he's not into ministry of sound etc. (ministry of ****e) What he wanst is get 12" - real techno and dance ( 8) , though...

    Excellent... Autumn's here!

Ah, yes, autumn and winter, the time of decent telly. However, I don't watch much telly - though yes, I would say I watch more in winter and autumn because the programmes are better.

    Advertisments

Selling religion like a commodity! They already bloody done it! I believe one of the 'GOD channels' on sky has the sound layer encrypted, and an onscreen message comes up, telling you this number to call, to have the 'power of God' in your living room. :( Don't know if its still...

    Supermarket Technology

Yes, I dislike this. It does compromise somewhat on security, I'm sure people could nick stuff easier from the supermarkets, and even worse it puts people out of jobs. I am quite the opposite of technophobe, but that supermarket thing is a technology we don't need, and that is not desirable.

    Charity

Not that good for new clothing, and yes, admin costs are high, but you've got to spend some admin, money doesn't raise itself. I don't really beleive charity does much for society, however like mentioned for suits and traditional clothing, it is about the best place to go if you can't...

    DIY Book

I've heard the Which? book of wiring and lighting to be quite good, though I haven't read it myself. This all assumes you are actually in the UK, I know you put UK as your avatar, but this was originally posted in the Electrics outside of the UK section. I'm actually thinking of getting a...

    BroadBand

ONe should also note that some areas have terrestrial (microwave)? broadband too. It is now available around here , notably in the hambleton district which are outside the DSL coverage area from the thirsk exchange. It might be worth looking into, but its a little pricier than DSL. Might be a...

    What a charming letter...

 Privatised companies... Thanks a lot maggie... :x To be quite honest, here is the other problem of privatisation besides the whole issue of what of the proletariat: Synergy. By nature, gas is a monopoly industry, as is electric. Thus it works best if ONE organization...

    Preparing for emergencies.

I agree its too simplistic. That said, when you read of what is done by some people, I think there are some people stupid enough to need to read it. Though it's probably propping up that slightly short wonky leg on their coffee table 'coz its borin and aave got betta things to do wi mi time'

    The Third World

Problems are that they need people to help on the farms, etc. Then they need to feed these kids, so they need more kids. Religion doesn't help either.
