In general is skim coating a ceiling a messy procedure ( splashing ? ) as we already have the kitchen and the finished flooring in place ?
I take it that once skim coated not only would we have to re-emulsion the ceiling, but we would also have to re-emulsion the walls ...
Hi
We are going to have to replace the plasterboard on a couple of downstairs ceilings.
The existing plasterboard has been filled and taped and painted.
We may be in the situation where some of the ceiling plasterboard has to be left in place.
When it comes to trying to hide the...
Hi
It is an oil fired boiler - a Grant Vortex.
The vessel is precharged to 1 Bar.
When the heating in on the pressure rises to around 1.3 Bar on the built in pressure gauge.
If I place a pressure gauge on the valve of the vessel when the heating is running then I should also read 1.3...
Hi
Inside our boiler we have this expansion vessel - please see the attached picture.
The flexible hose seems a little bit kinked where it comes off of the boiler.
Would this stop the vessel from working ?
Would the best way to test to see if it is working is to check the pressure...
Do you happen to know if there is another thermally conductive material that can be used with underfloor heating on a timber suspended floor rather than a sand and cement dry mix ?
Looking for something that is lightweight ?
Cheers
Hi
Can any one tell me if there is a lightweight thermally conductive pug mix for use with UFH.
We are trying to find something to use in place of a sand cement mix as it is going to be used on a timber joisted suspended floor.
Cheers.
Hi Noseall
I take it that it will be okay to buidl the pillars this way ?
We plan to fit lightwight garden fence type timber panelling in between the pillars.
Hi Noseall
Many thanks.
Yes we are using 440mm x 215mm x 100mm solid dense 7N concrete blocks with a standard cement / sand mortar.
Yes the pillars are to be built using complete blocks laid flat on top of each other up to a maximum of 12 blocks high plus mortar beds.
Hi Noseall
I was hoping you could give me your advice / comments regarding my post today regarding the maximum height that a concrete pillar can be built to when using concrete blocks built on flat.
Cheers
Hi
We have concrete block wall in our garden built using 440mm x 215mm x 100mm laid block on flat. It stops 4 blocks above the current ground level.
We want to build some freestanding block on flat pillars directly off this wall. Max height ( excluding mortar ) of the pliiars would be 12...
Hi
back box is earthed.
grid plate is earthed to back box via earthing wire.
face plate screws onto the grid plate - there is no earthing tag on the face plate.
Parts came from MK Electric.
So as there is no earthing tag there is no requirement to earth ?
