sounds like your condensate pipe is still frozen to me try pouring a kettle full of hot water over it lump of ice will prob come out followed by water and gurgling from the flue this tells you it is clear hit the re set button and away you go EA is just no flame detected

All domestic boilers have an integral trap/syphon to stop the fumes escaping. Do you have a trap outside the boiler prob not so letting it drip into a tub is fine
