Need to repair my flat bathroom roof.

The product Woody is refering to is ACRYPOL. Are you after a quick/temporary fix for your roof? Acrypol will be ok for a quick fix or you might be able to give flashband a try. Looking at the pics id say your roof covering is sha***d(technical terminology) ....But its hard to tell...

Cable Avoidance Tool or CAT for short!

I would recommend that you go on a training course to use the C.A.T but i suspect many people who are using them would say different. The course i went on lasted for 1 day & at the end of it you get a competence certificate to say you can use the C.A.T correctly. They are an easy tool to use but...

Cable Avoidance Tool or CAT for short!

The company i work for do a lot of sub-contracting to NEDL.When any works are being carried out that involves excavation of any type i.e hand digging for fence posts or machine digging for ring beams etc,it is an absolute must that you have cable records for the site and the use of a C.A.T &...

    Decra roof sheets

Will I still need to put battens on or can I fasten the sheets directly to the timber roof. You will still need to put the battens on.The shape & design of the tile means that it is essential to have the battens because you need to fix into the top of the tile and also into the face of the...

    Decra roof sheets

As leadman states, its best to have the right tools for bending etc and the guage is critical. The beauty about decra is that it is quick and relatively easy to fit....If you start from the ridge and work you way down to eaves you will find that you do not damage the sheets by standing on them...

    ooh la la. french doors

I would be putting 3 100mm butt hinges on the doors especially as they are heavy doors. The 6mm gap shouldnt be an issue but again,if you're taking the doors off again id pack the hinges over a bit.Cut some cardboard from a cereal packet and slip behind the hinges when you re-hang the doors.

    Flashing with Ubbink Ubiflex

This doesnt answer your question, but if it was me i'd leave that stuff in the garage/shed/cupboard or stick it on flea bay......and buy some lead! Just a personal preference plus lead will be a better finish, easier to use and last for years.

    Roofing Felt

As noseall said, you can use galvanised or copper clout nails but we tend to use the hammer tacker or a heavy duty staple gun.IMHO the hammer tacker is a lot quicker but i suppose it all comes down to personal preference. We put 4 fixings into the first corner of the felt, this helps to keep the...
