    Flow temp vs power rating

I don't think it's available for my boiler 2014 WB Si Compact, according to WB Tech. anyway

    Flow temp vs power rating

Hi John WB Greenstar Si boiler btw so it may be different. The set point above flow temp is +4 (non adjustable) I've timed cycle runs John, 2 on/off runs and they both totalled exactly 10 minutes, so I'm sure it's not coincidental On first run I had set 2k anti hysteresis to test my theory...

    Flow temp vs power rating

Re the bold highlight. If the boiler ran for 7 minutes and over, it would (in theory) have no time left for the anti cycle when it hit the Flow Set Point (FSP)+4 (usually on a Worcester). so it would then cycle on the hysteresis you have set (-12) I think you said. To test, put your boiler flow...

Flow Temp Rising Too Quickly - Fix?

The anti cycle time is the total of an on/off cycle and not the time interval between firing.. So, if you had a anti cycle time set to 10 mins and the boiler fired for say 6 mins and then hit FSP (Flow Set Point) + 5 (4 in my case) then it would stay off for at least 4 minutes OR the hysteresis...

    PIV questions

Ok, to turn the heater off you press the down button on the unit for a few seconds and then release, the amber light should then go off, therefore the heater won't come on whatever the loft temperature dial setting. Also, if you have it on fan speed setting 1 the heater won't come on at any...

    PIV questions

We have the heated version of the Nuaire. We live in a 3 bedroom terraced house with a fairly low landing ceiling where the PIV is situated. We have had the unit on speed 4 since installation BUT I turned off the heater (as I believe it doesn't do THAT much anyway) but I didn't tell my wife...

    Anti cycle or hysteris?

WB Greenstar Si Compact 30kw combi. Which control, when hitting flow temp+5 and then shutting the burner off, does the boiler software look at first, the anti cycle time (say 10 mins) or the hysteria temp drop (say 6 degrees). What I mean is, if the boiler goes into anti cycle mode, will it...

Boiler in constant anti cycle ?

Thanks but when you say to watch the temp falling (when actually in an anti cycling period), how far should we want it to fall to, because, as you say, waiting for the temperature to drop to room temp isn't practical. So to give us an idea if we need to reduce or increase the anti cycle time...

Boiler in constant anti cycle ?

John, on the Valiant anti cycle chart, what do the top numbers actually refer to (5,10,15,20 etc), also, when you say "fall, theoretically to room temperature", do you mean the boilers internal temp, or the ACTUAL room temperature (say 20c) ? Sorry to hijack btw but just curious

    Flow temperatures

My Si compact is 10 years old and the pump is Bosch UPS 15/60 HU1, can't find a curve for that so I thought maybe it was a rebranded Grundfos?

    Flow temperatures

Thanks John, I really appreciate your time. What I have noticed though is that the last 2 rads on my system (2.2kw and 1.9kw), these happen to be where the room stat is, that even with the L/S fully open the temp difference is about 13c, so even if I wanted a lower temp difference, I couldn't...

    Flow temperatures

I actually rebalanced last night EDIT: At the rads it was 60c in 50 out on pump speed 2, so it will be as I initially stated .902 LPM (so maybe just on the limit of the head with all trv's open ?) Will have to rebalance again though if using speed 3? :(

    Flow temperatures

Attached is my pump curve, looking at it, I'm thinking best to be on speed 3?

    Flow temperatures

Sorry, yes I did balance like that, realised I can put different flow temps in the spreadsheet to get the info I wanted

    Flow temperatures

That makes sense John thanks What’s the actual formula please for working this out

    Flow temperatures

Yes, but I think the mistake I made was that I balanced for around 10c difference when running at a 48c (and not 60c) boiler flow temp, so, I think my flow rate would be too slow ? If I've got that statement right then I think I've got it (finally). I really should be aiming for a flow rate of...

    Flow temperatures

Just another quick question regarding balancing John. Instead of balancing my rads at 60c to achieve a return of 50c (10c difference and a flow of 0.902), going off your charts, could I do the balancing at 45c to achieve (about 5c difference) or would the flow rate be different? What I'm trying...

    Flow temperatures

The installation instruction state : Available pump head at 20 °C system temperature rise 2.0 It's a Bosch Type UPS 15-60 HU1 3 speed pump 7 rads + towel rail , mid size 3 bed terraced house I wouldn't even know where to start re curves, heads etc

    Flow temperatures

Thanks John, So is this what I'm setting or is it as the WB 'technicians' said, purely to stop another heat demand from Nest within 10 mins? I must admit, the answer from them did have me confused, although I had it set at 10 mins and it restarted after about 3 mins after hitting flow SP+5...
