    Flow temperatures

The anti rapid fast cycle time (ARFCT) seems to work differently on the WB. I emailed WB and they said the ARFCT is only the time between the Nest calling for heat and a new heating program starting i.e if I set the ARFCT to, say, 10 mins, then if my room temp dropped below the SP then it...

Lower Flow Temperature & Higher Radiator Temperature?

If the 12c difference was when you balanced at a flow of, say, 60c, then the difference (delta) will obviously be less (5 or 6c in your case) at a lower boiler flow temperature...

    Flow temperatures

ok, thanks for looking John, really appreciate it. Have balanced the rads at 60c flow with 10 to 12 c differential at the rads. The boiler, when fully heated up reports back at 60 flow and 55 return. The pump is on speed 3 though now, maybe alter that and re balance at 60 c flow? Milder whether...

    Flow temperatures

It won't let me upload the 30 mb file and can only compress it to 17mb and still too big If it helps, its a WB Greenstar si compact 30kw (2014) so has the 3 speed pump

    Flow temperatures

So really I should have started balancing at, say, flow 60c to achieve a return difference of 10/12c as this would give me a decent flow rate, then, when I reduce the flow temp the flow difference would be less too. I was trying to achieve that differential at a flow of 48c (which would...

    Flow temperatures

Again, thanks for that John. The flow rate of 1.43 lpm, what flow temp differential at the rads to achieve that please as I notice in the charts you sent, the max delta I had (10 to 12c) was only at 100% rad output. I wasn't aware the delta would decrease with a lower flow temp. Also, in the...

    Flow temperatures

I'm going off the menu system in WB showing about 7c difference (sometimes less). All rads (even the towel rail) are balanced to around 10 to 12c difference. Internal bypass is something that I don't know anything about though John, not even sure if my WB Si Compact (2014) has one or even is it...

    Flow temperatures

Looking at my flow/returns though, I'm averaging 10 to 12c at the rads but only about 7c at the boiler (according to the menu system), so my lpm through the rads are much lower. Is the 7c at the boiler because of the lower flow and OAT?

    Flow temperatures

Thanks John, when I clicked on it again it worked. I worked it out that my room would need 1.9 Kw @-1c OAT and room stat at 20c btw. So I can adjust accordingly and can manually weather compensate each week (or month).

    Flow temperatures

Thanks John for the chart. and info Surprisingly, my calculations weren't too bad, roughly I was thinking, inside stat temp 19 c OAT 10c ...flow 50c OAT 5c...flow 60c OAT 0c and below ...flow 65c to 70c ish Like I say, the anti cycle WAS confusing me a little but now got my head around it a lot...

    Flow temperatures

Yes, please post it, would be interesting to look at. I still can't get my head around the anti cycling times theory though. In my mind, a high flow temp (eg 70c) would need a longer anti cycle time (to cool down after hitting flow+5) than a low one (50c), which will cool down quite low anyway...

    Flow temperatures

Thanks again John Yes I was looking at that chart before, and wondered if I could go off that (as a starting point) for my WB. So, if I change the anti cycle time to, say, 10 mins, and it doesn't get up to temp then I reduce the anti cycle time? or do I increase the flow temp instead? What I'm...

    Flow temperatures

I notice in the menus that the anti cycle time is set at 3 mins, should this be longer with it being a lower flow temp? If so, what would you suggest please? Thanks again

    Flow temperatures

Worcester Bosch Si Compact 30 Kw 7 rads + towel rad Roughly 8-9 kw rad output Ok, I keep hearing all the talk of trying lower flow temperatures and seeing the advice about trying different lower temperatures to see if your system would heat up ok with them. So, I thought I'd try at 48c and work...

    How to 'hide' these pipes...

Thanks, yes I realise this, current rad is 1.5kw output but because it's in the kitchen we only want it as 'background' heat, so I'm thinking 1kw should suffice. We've looked at 1600 height by about 400 but not the designer ones (more like the 'old fashioned' ones) and they vary from 1 to 1.2kw.

    How to 'hide' these pipes...

Hi all, hopefully someone can help Please refer to the pics attached Have just purchased this house and was looking at the rad below the boiler and notice the flow and return (15mm) are literally together in this ducting. A couple of questions then : 1. Would the flow pipe transfer the heat to...

    PIV or DIY approach...?

Have you tried closing the trickle vents for a night or 2 and see if it’s any better/ worse? It’s possible that the vents are cooling the glass surface too much especially with having wall vents too

    PIV or DIY approach...?

Forgot to add, we have no condensation overnight or during the day on any windows apart from when cooking and showering but we keep the fans on until it’s cleared

    PIV or DIY approach...?

Sounds exactly like our house, 70 plus %RH, but hardly any mould, heating on and windows opened regularly, 6” kitchen fan and in line bathroom fan. Obviously we get the odd mould spots on the bathroom and kitchen where it’s siliconed but certainly nothing extravagant. I’m hoping the PIV regular...

Bought mine online from Builders superstore. Even if there’s a problem they usually arrange pickup or even just replace. Whichever way, you would still have to disconnect the unit anyway…
