    One Cold Radiator

It sounds to me like the pipe work is blocked, water will still come out even if it's blocked for a few minutes as its either under pressure (combi boiler) and has a leg of water. I'd remove rad, and draw off at least a bucke of water from each pipe to eliminate a blockage.

Does the rad constantly stay warm whilt the cap is off?

All radiators different temp in different areas

Very true, but you should of seen the magnets the other day on a magna cleanse job I did, they were full of black sludge. Ive upgraded a lot of systems to fully pumped, and used the old 28mm circs to save on cost but haven't seen any quite that bad. If they were even a little clogged up I'd...

BBU fires for a min or two, then cuts off, any idea?

I'll sort the simple fault tomorrow for free and not rip her off.

BBU fires for a min or two, then cuts off, any idea?

Oh you mean at the aerjec will try that, I doubt its that but you never know. [/i] Actually, most of us DO know it is one of the most common causes. I highly doubt it is in this case though

BBU fires for a min or two, then cuts off, any idea?

I haven't tried to diagnosed anything yet? I'm yet to look at the boiler, I was merely seeing if the fault was common or not. And thank you for updating me on forum rules.

BBU fires for a min or two, then cuts off, any idea?

The BBU completly fires up, heats for a couple of minutes then clicks out. I'm thinking it could be the OSD. Will update tomorrow

BBU fires for a min or two, then cuts off, any idea?

I havent posted there because I've only signed up on this site today, and secondly I'm having issues with this particular boiler. I'm also OFTEC registered, so I assure you I have experience. It was late this evening when i arrived at the job and i replaced the pump with a second hand one to...

BBU fires for a min or two, then cuts off, any idea?

[/i] With respect, I didn't say there was no water. A blockage at the cold feed junctio can develop into a restriction of the flow. Causing no circulation, noise and boiler overheting, then cutting off. Try the old magnet trick Oh you mean at the aerjec will try that, I doubt its...

All radiators different temp in different areas

Magna flush is 3x more effective than a power flush and the results can be seen. Still, might just need balancing. A quick test to see if it does need balancing would be to blast each rad with pump pressure individually and to see if each rad gets warm all the way though top to bottom.

Also, if it not a combi boiler and there's an indirect cylinder (copper tank in airing cupboard), make sure you close the gate valve on the return pipe to help force the air lock out (that's if it is an air lock).

BBU fires for a min or two, then cuts off, any idea?

[/i] Blocked cold feed (at point of connection to system) I opened the manual vent next to the 3 port valve and water overflowed out, I also opened pump valves whilst it was out and same think so there seems to be water in system. Cheers again

BBU fires for a min or two, then cuts off, any idea?

Cheers for the quick reply, it's a fully pumped system (y plan). I initially thought it was the pump (boiler kettling and cutting out). But changed that and still no joy.

Its possibly air locked...Close all other radiators off and leave the one not getting warm open....see if you have any joy.
