    Shop premises

The linked document describes the use of the mobile telephone network for transmitting data back to the provider. The wireless network (Zigbee) works within your home to link the meters (and remote displays) together.

    Tumble Dryer in Metal Shed

The Currys website lists some of their chest freezers as "suitable for outbuildings". I have the LOGIK freezer in an adjoined garage (which gets cold enough in winter to freeze emulsion paint!) and this is working well...

What about an LCD flame effect fire? The fan only runs on these when the heating element is on. http://www.superiorfires.co.uk/santini-kinloch-brushed-steel-lcd-electric-fire.html

    Extension cable to telephone socket

Is the current telephone socket working as it should? If so you just need to connect the terminals like for like. By this I mean that terminal 5 in the current socket is connected via your new wire to terminal 5 in the extension, 3 to 3 and 2 to 2. Your comment about the colours in the...

    Landlord doing own non-notifiable work

I assumed the OP is the landlord and therefore it was his responsibility. "Landlords have a legal duty to ensure that their rental property, and any electrical equipment provided, is safe before a tenancy begins and throughout its duration."

Wiring question - single to double plug

You can use either of the earth terminals in the new socket - they are connected together within the socket itself. Make sure there is no copper showing when connecting the wires to the new socket (unlike the neutral terminal in the old socket).

    Screwless light switch

I assumed "screwless" in that the fixing screws are hidden by a faceplate once attached to the wall.

    Emergency Stop Button

Very similar to the switch that was linked earlier (http://www.axminster.co.uk/nvr-switch-with-13a-socket). The Axminster has the socket under the blue flap.

Lights flickering - to much power??

I had a similar problem in the past - the previous owner had replaced the 12v 10W bulbs with 20W at some point. Is there a label on the fitting to indicate the correct bulb type.

    Plug

I had one some time ago, it had 3 extra long pins with four screw terminals per pin. The cables then exited through 4 separate cable cord grips. All protected by a single fuse. I guess the only issue with two cables into a standard plug would be: - can the two conductors (per pin) fit into...

Extending a ring main in a garage-just need a junction box?

I think ericmark is referring to using the two single sockets in place of an existing double socket to extend the ring. In this configuration the incoming existing ring cable could be connected to the left (for example) socket along with the new ring cable. The ring can then loop through the...
