My boiler is in a very cold garage . In winter the frost stat operates and overides all other controls. There is no return pipe thermostat on the Gloworm swiftflow. Consequently the temperature in the house rockets up to 25c at night.
I believe it might be possible to fit a return pipe...
I have been using Outlook Express. I also have Outlook 2002 on my laptop and it looks as though it could be more useful. Any tips on how to migrate all current stuff on from OE please, eg contacts and emails ?
Thanks
Jim
Problem seems solved.
For info, some time ago my room thermostat(mechanical) was replaced by a programmable one. This superseded the timer incorporated in the boiler. A few days ago I had an electrical outage which my plumber says affected the timer on the boiler (even though it is no longer...
No, it is a wired one . Honeywell CM 907 less than a year old. The boiler and frost thermostat are in the garage(cold place) and the programmable thermostat is in the hall.
My programmer is calling for central heating but it wont fire. I get hot water ok. Discovered that if I meddle with the frost thermostat and raise it to about 7 degrees, the boiler will fire up the central heating. Its not satisfactory as I want the programmable thermostat to do the job. Any...
Bobw1956 mentioned that I should reduce the last temperature setting(overnight) to 10c. Is this the solution if there is no pipe stat. Just curious to know how the 10c setting would fix the problem.
Thanks
Jim
The Honeywell Programmable stat is CM907.
I took the cover off the Frost thermostat near the boiler and turned it down marginally and it switched the boiler off. Is that a dodgy thing to do?
The problem seems to be that after the frost thermostat fires the boiler it stays on.

Re my last post; I have noticed that although the Honeywell programmable stat is set for 21c in the evening and its now showing 23.5c the programmable stat is not calling for heat and the "flame" sign is not illuminated. Nevertheless the boiler is actually fired up, pumping and heating.

The boiler is a Glowworm Swiftflow 100. I have a programmable thermostat and the last setting is 16c.
By the way would it help to reduce the heating temperature on the boiler itself.
Even now at 2100hrs the thermostat in the hall is showing 23c but the setting (target temp) is only 21c.

I have a combi boiler which comes on overnight and in this weather brings room temperature up to 23c. The boiler is in the garage and I am guessing its the protective function that sets it going. My radiators do not have individual temperature controls.I will in the spring do something about...
Many thanks. As the Ford Dealer threw a warranty in at a reduced price I decided to take it. Only time will tell whether it was worth it. Many thanks for your helpful comments.

I am about to buy a Ford Mondeo with 18000 only on it (its genuine mileage owned by a disabled person). Its a 2006 Estate.
Is it worth it to buy a warranty which would cost me £312 for a year. I have never bought one before but would appreciate experience/advice.

Can anyone tell me please where the pollen filter is housed on a V70 classic . I was told I might need to change it to improve efficiency of the air con.
Thanks, Jim
Thanks for your help. Thought I would let you know I had a nitrogen test done today, followed by Vacuum, then recharged. It seems the previous "expert" only put 350 grams gas back in when it needs 850grams or thereabouts. Will see how it goes. Thanks again. Jim
After having problem with air conditioning and getting warm air only I got a mobile "specialist" to recharge the system. He seemed to connect a machine which recycled the existing gas. Thereafter it seemed to produce limited cool air for a short while and then warm air. The mobile "specialist"...
