    TB

Jockspark, not at hand but I'm sure there will be some out there as all cases of TB have to be notified to the government. I'll have a look after work tomorrow and dig some out for you. PB

    TB

I think you are actually right Gas4You. the A+E dept where I worked several years ago used to give anyone with a puncture wound and who hadn't been vaccinated in 10 years a booster. But I've just had a look for the evidence for doing so and it seems to not be of much benefit if someone's had the...

    TB

Dear Softus, I'm sorry that I appear to have annoyed you. You have been very helpful to me on another thread. From your initial post I thought you might be worried that your occupation increased your risk of getting TB and that was why you put up the post; I was attempting to...

Anyone Failed Part P For Colour Blindness?

do you work for a company or are you self employed? If you work for a company then there will be quite strict laws about how your bosses can treat you because of your "disability". If you could no longer do the job they would have to make a substantial effort to help you. If it is causing...

    TB

I'm sorry Jockspark, it sounds like you had a rough time but I'm not treating it lightly; that is what the evidence shows. Your case is highly unusual. I think it's far more likely that you caught TB from someone you lived with who never developed symptoms than from...

    TB

You don't need to worry. TB is quite hard to get. You get it from inhaling aerosols containing large numbers of the bacteria which are produced by infected people coughing (not from drains!). So unless you are working for prolonged periods (weeks) in poorly ventilated places, in cramped...

spluttering from vent pipe when pump start/stops

yes Softus, I believe that is the cold feed. I haven't seen the pipes where they run up behind walls but there are no other pipes which could really be the cold feed.

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

The basement is a mix of full depth and half. beneath the bay window and behind rwp it is half depth. I'll have a chat with my neighbours and get it sorted. Many thanks for your advice!

spluttering from vent pipe when pump start/stops

thanks jeffrey for your alternative suggestions. I'm still hoping it's a blocked air separator and the sludge remover does the trick but it's good to have some other ideas. "1,check out feed and vent to see if they are within 6 inch apart could be dragging air in" vent is about 4...

spluttering from vent pipe when pump start/stops

sludge remover in. It was a diyer at work who told me that- had a theory about leaks being plugged by limescale and then when you added the sludge remover they opened up. I think the system was installed in 1996 when the boiler was but I'm not really sure. If solder/flux got in back then...

spluttering from vent pipe when pump start/stops

Hi Mick, thanks for your help. Can I just check that this is an air separator: For my own interest how would it being blocked cause the spluttering when the motor stop/started and what would it look like if you opened it up? Would it just be sludge blocking it? I've got some...

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

thanks Shytalkz for your reply. The basement is immediately behind the rwp location and in that region of the basement is only 1m deep. I would imagine that the rwp does go down as far as at least the top of the foundations. The bricks do not feel damp to the touch. I did a little digging...

spluttering from vent pipe when pump start/stops

Hi, I was hoping for your advice on something I've noticed. My system is: Potterton suprima 100 (fairly recent new PCB). pump: grundfos super selectric. (set to 3) Open vented separate vent and feed (vent is 22mm). two honeywell zone valves - both two way automatic bypass (set to 2)...

THE PROOF= DIY gas work is almost always illegal

either way, if a DIYer were to install a boiler which lead to someone's death would they possibly not be charged with manslaughter? a professional would be able to demonstrate that he had passed a qualification, had done whatever continued professional training is required of them and...

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

ps. it was mentioned that from the photo the house might be leaning to the right a bit. I've put a long piece of wood on the windowsill and couldn't find one with a spirit level. I couldn't think of a more accurate way of doing it than that with what I've got.

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

Hi, I've just been outside and been digging around the down pipe. I've put a photo on my album (with one of the house again in case my previous link doesn't work anymore) http://network.diynot.com/puzzlebobble/albums/ the white wall is the front of the house. The brick to the right is...
