Potteron Suprima 30 Cutting Out When Hot Water On

hi, i can't tell enough about how your circuit is set up from the photos. if the 3-port valve is shut to the radiators and hot water tank is there another path for the water back to the boiler from the pump? (or is it always open at least in one direction?) if so and the return is low...

Potteron Suprima 30 Cutting Out When Hot Water On

the suprima 30 manual says: "Also, systems fitted with controls that close both hot water and central heating circuits while the boiler is still hot, must be fitted with a by-pass circuit to dissipate the residual heat from within the boiler". It also says "If a three port valve is used...

Potteron Suprima 30 Cutting Out When Hot Water On

looking at your photo again i think i was probably wrong about where the auto bypass goes. Is there a pipe that goes from the pump back to the boiler without going to either radiators or boiler? If there is i think it'll be the bypass circuit. I think there should be one as if the suprima 30 is...

Potteron Suprima 30 Cutting Out When Hot Water On

hi ph0u203d, i'm not a pro but i had similar problems to you and managed to sort in very well with help from this site. i was having problem with the red flashing light (lock out) on a suprima 100. Like you it wouldn't 'lock out' as much when when heating the radiators as...

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

Thanks for the advice, it hadn't even crossed my mind that it could be related to the drain. It'll probably be the weekend before i am home in daylight; midnight photography is one thing- digging up the garden is another. Might end up in the local loony bin if i...

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

The pipe is certainly metal at the bottom. It runs straight into the ground. i thought it went into my neighbour's but it's actually on the boundary of the two houses in a gap between the garden wall and the house. it serves the bays and roofs of both houses. the basement does indeed...

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

Hi Shytalks, thanks for your reply. The top of the other crack is right at the corner of the window. The bottom is further into the house. Above the bay window is a thin balcony which is only the depth of the bay window. It covers the area outside this crack and continues over...

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

hi, aplologies I should have mentioned there's a hairline crack on the otherside of the bay. it runs from the corner of the window in a diagonal fashion about a third of the way down to the floor. Again no signs on external wall and on this side there is suggestion whatsoever of a crack at the...

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

thanks for your reply woody. in the context of the ground floor it is below a rectangular bay window at roughly the point between bay window and start of wall proper. the first photo shows a crack in the plasterwork of the bay window which is in roughly the same place.

thanks for your advice Joe. would you do anything about the possible crack in the wall in the basement? Or just leave it and keep an eye?

sunsidence or nothing to worry about ??

Hi, I'd be really grateful if I could get the advice of any of you guys/gals out there. i've owned a victorian house for two and a half years. It'd had a paint job not long before i moved in. This crack appeared a while after I moved in. It might have got very slightly bigger over this...

refilled cold water tank ok. No water from taps.

thanks GJS! That makes a lot of sense; i guess there's two, rather than one that splits into separate pipes to the taps and tank, so there's no reduction in hot water pressure when the cold tap is turned on?

refilled cold water tank ok. No water from taps.

I'm back already. I connected a garden hose from a sink which is connected to the mains to on in the bathroom and gently opened the tap. When there was a small amount of water running through I ran up to the loft and could hear bubbles. All the bubbles were coming from one of the two pipes near...

refilled cold water tank ok. No water from taps.

Hi, I woke this morning to hear drips falling. I located the leak to the valve on the pipe running from the cold water storage tank in the attic. There was a fair bit of limescale on the underside so I think it must have been going a while. I was unable to stop the leak with either...
