Thanks for the reply. I guessed the valve may have stuck. I tried it this morning before I came to work and it worked perfectly so I don't know what was going on with it last night.

I have put a radiator back on the system after decorating. The pressure on the boiler dropped to zero. I have attached the silver braided filling hose but when I turn the black knob to fill the system nothing happens. The black knob keeps spinning but no water comes out. I have even unattached...
