I would suggest trying to take the side panel off, then see if you can undo the clips holding it together. (disconnect mains, lid off, then side panel is normal route)

I now think this may be one of the smaller tumble dryers and therefore the casing is released at the back and base; the whole sides and top (in one?) are then lifted clear upwards? Check the release as you go, it may be that one also has to release it at the top behind the control panel...

Sorry for not getting back as I presumed someone else comes on this forum - if you had the machine lying flat for the motor examination perhaps water has found it's way into the wrong areas. Have you located the pressure pipes and made sure they are clear?

Perhaps it would be a good idea to be able to isolate the washing machine without having to pull it out for future emergencies? regardless of whether it is the fault.
