glassman, in my experience i would first look for easily apparent reasons for the damp, such as; high levels of soil outside against the walls concerned, leaking pipes, etc.etc. do a search for 'damp' and you'll find more. as for your problems with the d.p. company, that does not surprise...

the first guy did mention something similar, but it was all done so quickly i didn't have a chance. what would be the rating and type of switch i'd need, if it ever happens again, i'll know what to get.

the service fuse has blown on a house i'm working on fitting a kitchen. its within an old hinged metal box. porcelen holder and rewireable. the tenants were using oven, shower, and a host of other items which it seems is why it blew!? i've searched the forum and it seems my client should ask...

going to replace some of my aunts old central heating valves. they are pegler, mainly 10mm. do they still manufacture valves as i'd like to be able to just replace the body of the valve within the radiator and not rearrange the pipework? anyone able to help please.?

first things first check wiring in plug then socket for loose connections. then if all ok think back to when it first started and what work or movements have been made in the house b4 that time.

have installed a 8.5 kW shower on 6mm cable, with a 32amp breaker. is this ok? cable run is 13 metres, in cavity wall and through floor without insulation. i'm have prefered to change to 10mm but cost prevented this so i'd rather keep the 32amp breaker rather than change to a 40amp. breakers...
