what has the sudan done for us.

But we aren't keeping them sweet. They obviously hate us - certainly their clerics do. The reports I read said that people streamed from the mosques (10,000 of them apparently) crying for this poor teacher's blood. But it isn't just the Sudanese rabble, who may be excused for having fed...

Ceramica 850mm White Vanity Unit FROM PLUMBWORLD

And apparently (can't remember where I heard this) if you send another email in an attempt to hurry them up, you go the back of the queue again and the original email gets deleted. Their stuff is amazingly inexpensive, though, so perhaps it'll be worth it in the end.

Ceramica 850mm White Vanity Unit FROM PLUMBWORLD

Sorry, can't help. :( Aren't Plumbworld the people who don't have a phone number and insist on customers communicating by email?

    Why try and belittle people

I wouldn't bet on that, John. Joe 90 was a 1960s tv series. It featured a 9-year old 'boy' with an electronic device in his head that could mimic others' brain patterns

    Why try and belittle people

Personally, I don't mind the rudeness. However, there are rules here and Rule 2a seems to cover it.

Farrow & Ball, Dulux or Crown ??

I've used the Crown eggshell and I haven't found it more difficult to apply than Satin. I certainly prefer the look of eggshell. In terms of colour, though, I don't think you can go wrong with Farrow and Ball.

    DNA database

DNA records may be fine while we have a 'benevolent' government (and I realise some of us might argue that we don't). However, suppose in the future a less scrupulous regime were to take over, one, for example, that rules us by force rather than democracy. What then?

    mould on wall

Tej, do you have double-glazing? That's a great way to increase condensation. As the link John gave you will confirm, dg stops moisture forming on windows so moisture-laden air condenses elsewhere.

Which type of boiler to install?

John, have you been to any of these Homebuilding and Renovating Shows? They're on throughout the year in various locations. I went to one earlier in the year and they really are a brilliant source of info. But, to be specific, will you be putting down wooden floors? Broadleaf Timber in Bath...

My Front Door : Can it be updated ??

It's really the glass that looks dated but if you're renting there's not much you can do about that. You also have to consider that the door might be right' for the style of bungalow. However, white gloss paint is very unforgiving once it starts to look tatty. Eggshell is a different matter...

    Horrible Artex

Don't try and remove Artex yourself. It might have asbestos in it. In any event, a good plasterer can put on a skim coat which covers it up.

Neil, is this a combi boiler? It's illegal to pump a combi in the uk. Sorry about your pressure, though.

B&Q Wickes are a no no right?

Timberland are rude, too. I asked them for a quote for my hall (by email) They sniffily replied that they don't get out of bed for less than £1000 - or words to that effect. Yet, they're clearly desperate for business - all the glossy mags carry their ads, promising 3 rooms for the price of...

B&Q Wickes are a no no right?

Yes, it certainly does help me. My very first post in this forum was on this topic. I'd bought laminate and virtually everyone told me I couldn't click it together because I'd gone for the cheap stuff. Homebase, by contrast, tried to tell me I was incompetent - apparently no one else had...

How to fix damaged external corners on walls

Well, yes, I could probably get away with wood-against-the-wall plus polyfilla. I just wondered if there was something a bit more robust, but not as thick as the metal strip. (And no, I'm not good at plastering  )

Cost of fitting a bathroom suite

That's a nice suite. I remember Andrew Winter (the estate agent from tv's Selling Houses) saying that this was a good blend of traditional and modern, likely to appeal to lots of buyers, so when you do come to sell, excellent choice. Still wondering about that curved showerscreen, though...
