Had a quote - got a query on parts

If you buy the parts, on his account or not, you will only be partially covered under the Supply of Goods & Services Act, thus this will only be to the detriment of the consumer (i.e. you) This is not correct any more, 20 years ago this is how it was done maybe, trade accounts are not even...

    Copper pipe for air system

If it is clipped every meter or less, it won't go any where and soldered joints are fine for home to medium business use, there is no thermal cycling, thus is in a less demanding place that a typical heating system. Just my opinion though, has worked fine for me last 20 years.

    Copper pipe for air system

You can always test this sort of stuff yourself for not a lot of money, buy one of these from TS.. http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Plumbing/Testing+Reporting/Testing+Pump+40+Bar/d20/sd2752/p36395 and test to twice the working pressure, that would show up any cocked up joints and avoid a...

    Copper pipe for air system

8 bar is nothing for soldered copper joints, i have tested copper to 20 bar, held for over 24 hours with no problem. I have a 10 bar 100l compressor in my garage, run on 15mm copper, with 10mm air lines, which is good enough to get over 900nm of of my impact gun (according to manufacturer)...

    Wages

You are not going to get an answer you want to hear on this forum. PAYE people just want an easy life, have stuff managed for them, have a purpose in life, have an authority control what they do/praise them for doing it. Figure it out, bin him off/keep him - who wins?

It is called induced siphonage. If you put normal p/s traps in this install, it will suck them dry and thus you will have a smelly sewer gas filled room

    Strange tap leaking through ceiling

Yes, replace the gland packing, but don't disturb it too much or it will leak from either end. Unless you live in a bungalow or have a tiled/wood floor above, then cut the floor. If not, cut a box section out of ceiling at 90 degrees on the saw The valve could be used as a balance for the...
