    Combi cutting out

so this is about the tap water, expect the heat exchanger may be scaled up, get it descaled by a powerflusher or replaced. the water goes through the heat exchanger and gets too hot so the boiler cuts out the screw cap on the pump is for bleeding it, it would spray water till the system...

    District heating

elson water heater is a fortic tank the overflow is connected to the cold part so you've got to heat the whole thing to boiling point this is open vent system you can only get boiling water standard wastes will handle boiling water at atmospheric pressure is no a long enough answer ?

    Grohe flush

If you unlock the central tube (it is a bayonet fit) and lift it up check the soft sealing washer at the bottom, old ones tend to get bubbles and won't seal others get scaled up and won't seal till cleaned. Check the seat for damage bits or scale if this isn't clean the washer cannot seal...

Shower for hot tank and main pressure cold water

search for a TREVI BOOST this is the shower to use mains cold water to suck the hot from the cylinder. If the mains is above 2 bar you may reqiure an adjustable pressure reducing valve otherwise the coldness of the mains will make all showers too cold

Ball valve, Part 1, Part 2, Torbeck or what?

Impersonating not a bit really wierd to see you there. part 1 valve has a straight arm and flows out of the bottom of the brass part 2 valve has a bent arm and a plastic piece on top to divert the water downwards the part 1 is not allowed for cswc as it doesn't provide enough clearance for...

    Hot water trickle.

Hi what you have is called a FORTIC cylinder. The flow of hot water in a new system is defined by the height of the cold water in the system "the head" the pipe that feeds water from the cold section on top to the bottom of the hot section is internal (in the bulge on side on cylinder). I would...

    Combi Boiler Problems

when the hot water tap is opened a diaphram flexes and triggers the boiler to fire up. this then circulates boiler water through the domestic hot water heat exchanger and heat transfers to the tap water. If you get poor flow from the hot tap, expect scale problems, typically boiler fires up...

    Water coming through my ceiling

the Megaflo has internal expansion and as you say the bubble has to be re-instated sometimes. The red expansion vessel with the screwdriver isolation valve is part of the heating system. There are also 2 release valves associated with the Megaflo which should indicate they are leaking by a...

    Main water tank overflow

how high is the expansion loop above the cold water tank? look for 450mm is it dripping? next thought I have recently had 2 hot water cylinders leaking internally between the central heating coil and the domestic water. This results in water overflowing from the lower tank warning pipe and...

Loss of pressure - where's the leak??

Hi are you getting gas in the radiators which needs to be released? If you are then it is corrosion which is reducing the pressure."iron radiators + water = iron oxide + hydrogen" the hydrogen being gaseous can be squeezed to reduce the water pressure. If this all applies you need to add...

    Gravity (non) circulation

Hi JOHND If the cylinder is primatic, the heat water will not be the same as F&E check on the number of drain valves. Primatic cylinders are not so common but there are still some out there.

Hi Feed and expansion cistern can use part 1 or part 2 ball valve. Cold water must use part 2 valve to conform with water regs.
