I have all the dimensions for clearances and installation/servicing. There is a ventilation requirement for this boiler which can be met. Did you achieve noise reduction by enclosing the boiler? Are combi boilers generally noisy as they are powerful?

I am looking to install a combi boiler directly on the wall the other side of the wall from the bed head. We have no other choice of position and this position is good for everything except potential noise. I am concerned that normal boiler noises like burners, pump etc will be disturbing...

We have softwood double glazed windows on order. I understand the fitting process from the \\\'how to\\\' section but how are the sealed units secured into the frames? With beads? Do you use silicone to seal them in?

Thanks, I know 500V is used for normal testing, I wasn't sure whether the 12v halogen lighting circuits counted as SELV or PELV and needed testing at 250V thereby requiring a multi range instrument. What about the loop/PSC tester requirement? :D

On the access front, we're putting a built-in double oven under the hob - will this mean that we have to allow access from the cupboard to the side of the oven to connect up? If this is the case then I could site the gas cock somewhere more convenient like behind the cupboard rather than behind...

How should gas pipes for built in oven and hob be terminated ready for the oven and hob to be fitted? Do you use a bayonet socket for the oven? Conventional or microbore? Threaded fitting for the hob?

Looking at this old post, it made me wonder how this was any different to using 2.5T+E as a spur off a ring main, the MCB would still be 32A but that would be higher than the rating of the cable to the spur. So how does that make spurs acceptable?(Assumes his cooker circuit was 32A) :?

Is it acceptable to run a gas pipe behind dry lining? Gas reg 19 'no pipe in unventilated void' would say no but then it leads me to ask about running through ceiling space as that is unventilated void but is surely used all the time for gas pipe runs? :?
