    Conecting two lights.

 Apparently! Don't know why I had that in myhead. To answer the original question you need to choose the switch you want to use, disconnect the other, and send a cable from light A to light B, linking L,N,E and maybe Loop for the sake of it, and disconnect the existing cable at B.

    Conecting two lights.

You'll have to tell us what connections / cables you have in the switches. But basically you have to disconnect the 'strappers' going between the switches, re arrange the original switch so your feed is on C, and your swith live is on L1. You will probably have three cables connected (3...

    Redundant socket outlet

You need something to indicate their is a cable buried there (Regs), why not just install a 1G socket and make use of the ring?

It can only be supplied in metre lengths, I need much shorter than that, although doubling over the light would work. What I need is shy of half a metre.

    Strip lights...

Cheers for your reply, I didn't even know you could get coloured fluorescents. However I would like something a bit more slimline than a fluorescent fitting. The rope light would be great, if anybody knows somewhere that could supply me one made-to-measure. Thanks.

    main switch undersized?

As long as the cable is adaquete why would you want to change the switch? You can buy replacement switches, although I fail to see why you would want to. Have you had any trouble with it?

Again fair point, but; A) I was FOR feeding it off the lighting circuit! B) Anybody who turns off the detection deserves a slap! Maybe not a house fire but a good ****ing wake up call anyways!

    Lights in the loft Problem

You still need a switched live from the switch to the light, and a neutral from the lighting circuit. Your best bet is to run a loop live and neutral from a local light fitting and a live from the switch using twin brown 1.5mm2 cable to your new fitting. Unless of course theres a neutral...

    spur from smoke alarm????

It's common to feed a smoke alarm off the lighting circuit, so I don't see why not. Just make sure you use the correct cable, and correct protection. (6A for 1.5 Twin)

    Fitting neon indicator switch

I actually just mean a conduit drop for the switch buried in the wall (Pretty common) - not the whole system.
