    MIL's New Boiler

The pipe sounds like it's bound to be undersized and not supplying enough gas-a working pressure test at the boiler should have been carried out along with other tests and should be put on the benchmark and installation paperwork. You cannot box in a gas pipe with compression joint fitted...

Which size core drill for a soil pipe?

You need a minimum 127mm maybe even a 150mm,no point buying cheap,if your drilling through anything a bit hard the cheap ones won't touch it,the best in my opinion are Nimbus, then marcrist, turbolite etc. but if you've only got one hole to drill then have you considered hiring one?- and...

    old plastic water pipe

Not heard of 17mm before-if its anywhere near 16mm then you can get a 16mm-15mm compression adaptor which would do what you need-best get an accurate measurment and go from there.

    sizing room for radiators

Personally I wouldn't as unless you are always going to use the fire and heating together then your radiator would be undersized.

    GAS FIRE

Quote from British Gas - Outrageous?

Yes the 28i greenstar will cost £1000 say with a programmable room stat, but its a lot more involved than what you think to swap the boiler-you may need to have the gas pipe upgraded, you will definitely have an extra pipe to plumb in -the condensate drain and although the boiler is going in the...

Its not that but every job is different and it's one of the downsides of working for yourself is the endless pricing-I wish I had a ready made price list I could refer to for every job I did but unfortunaely it's not as simple as that-good luck with the future.

    Lockshields

Does anyone know where I can get quality lockshield valves from like the old type with seperate gland nut instead of the type with 'o' rings which they all seem to be now,the places I use, city plumbing and plumbs only do the latter, they tend to leak after a while and cant re-pack them like the...
