That is obviously only a tempory measur till it is mended. What I don't understand is that where it used to click before closing...

    leak stopping compound

Does anything exist that you can paste round a compression fitting that may help if it springs a leak. I have a compression fitting on the top of a copper pipe from which a shower head is fitted. This compression fitting for whatever reason came slightly loose and leaked. Because this was all...

    Guarantee

I have chased out part of the hall wall which is damp and exposed the fitting at the top of the copper tube that connects to the shower head. Unfortunately to get access to tighten etc. would mean taking tiles off. However I was would ask a plumber if he could pick up the feed under the bath...

    Water hammer

Since I've had a new copper cylinder and mains water feed to it and the tanks in the loft I have had water hammer. It is caused by the washing machine valves and occurs in the pipework just before the cylinder. I think it only occurs when the WM is filling with cold but hammers in the pipework...

    New CU

They are definitely radials although the fact that they are in a group of five single fused spurs and I can see both of the feeds one to 3 spurs and the other to 2 it would be easy to just complete the ring. The only problem I see with the ring is if on holiday and the MCB goes off then I lose...

    New CU

What blew was where the wire was connected at the top of the 30A fuse. It had been there for 20 years and I assumed may have become slightly loose and if ( I cannot say now as I have temp. rewired) the WM and TD were on one of the radials the current at the time would have been high as they were...

    Pop up popping up

I've found the joint to which you can adjust the length of the two rods. The thing is whatever length I make the vertical length it still makes too much upward push to keep the plug in. It is though something has changed on the plug, not enough suction (or whatever) to stay down.

    Pop up popping up

There is nothing along the push rod. The two rods are connected by a swivel clip. The upward pressure on the pop up seems high and it is hard to see how the pop up stayed down, is it suction?
