    when you say you moved your tank do you mean the cold water storage tank in the loft, if it is get the person who moved it to check that the vent pipe that loops into the tank, is not submerged in the water and the cold feed is falling the correct way. :wink:

    Screeding over Pipe

    I personaly dont use polypipe and no dobt some of the lads will advise you better, but if you use copper make sure you protect the pipe from the cement, as the lime will corrode it. A bitumin paint or a hair felt lagging would do the trick. :wink:

    Service engineer & power flush

    set your programer to heating only, and close all the radiators off apart from the offending rad. make sure both radiator valves are open, and it should circulate if its not blocked. British gas must love their fitters recomending electrical appliances. :wink:

    The noisy pipes could be the rising water mains to the loft. when you run off some hot water, the mains water fills the storage tank which in turn can cause water hammer if the pipes are not secure.     Turning the valves off either side of the pump will not help the pump if its working because its got nowhere to pump to,trust me you will feel the screw driver bounceing off the spindle when you try to locate the screwdriver. you can buy pumps at most d.i.y centres

    you can check the pump by undoing the screw on the face of the pump, you should see a small slot where you can put a small screw driver in to it to see if the pump is free :wink:

    Indoor manholes

    you need a double seal double cover manhole that allows you to insert tiles flush with the floor level, the double seal will prevent any sewage entering the property :D

    Noisy boiler.

    by getting a corgi guy round to look at your boiler will determing weather your gas presures are correct, but it sounds like to me that the boiler could be sludged up and it could use a power flush to clean the system. :wink:

    Boxed in boiler - safe?

    refur to the maufactures instuctions like chris said, some models only need minimum clearence which allows the boiler to cool down in confined spaces

    try checking around meter control valve and meter connections with leak detector fluid :roll:
