    hot water pressure in taps

The fault is probably due to the cold water inlet filter on the boiler being partially bocked.

Cylinder & Room Stat states in wiring diagrams

Hi, please correct me if I am wrong but it is my understanding that the grey wire holds the valve in the midi position when both the HW water and CH is calling. :?: :?: Regards spraggo

Leave CH on all the time or just twice a day?

It depends on how well your house is insulated.

Cylinder & Room Stat states in wiring diagrams

Your guess work is correct, they are both calling for heat, normally closed, (nc). They will switch open when temp is satisfied

Oil boiler problems, can you help?

It could also be a problem with the flow/proximity switch. This would be the case if the boiler does not fire when a hot tap is turned on with the heating switched OFF.

Oil boiler problems, can you help?

In that case I would suspect that the Diverter valve is faulty, you should feel resistance on the lever with the heating off

Oil boiler problems, can you help?

Ok, turn off the heating and wait for twenty minutes or so, you should hear the boiler firing every so often, ,this is to heat the water in the heatslave tank, Then see if the water gets hot after this time.

Oil boiler problems, can you help?

Does the boiler stay on when heating is selected, can you hear the pump running?. The hot water will take a while to get hot, the diverter valve lever will be loose when heating is ON but restistance will be felt when OFF

Oil boiler problems, can you help?

If you bled the rads with the heating switched on this has probably sucked air into the system. So bleed them with the heating OFF and bleed the three air vents on the top of the boiler (under the top cover).

Oil boiler problems, can you help?

If it is a combi boiler, unvented system, with no hot water cylinder, then you will need to repressure the system. If it is a vented system (with a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard). You will probably find that the small head tank in the attic has no water in it due to the ball valve...

    Horstmann 7 Water Control Disaster

You should be left with three green earth wires, all three connect to the earth terminal. Or all joined together using a choc block. Please read my earlier post.

    No Hot Water

    Gurgling boiler

Posting a diagram of the pipework set up would be a help. Is the pump fitted the correct way round??. Have you tried turning the gate valve down on the cylinder return

    Gurgling boiler

As already stated, it seems that the expansion pipe doe`s not rise at least 450mm above the water level in the header tank. Having said that the water level is to high so adjust the float valve so that the tank only fills one third and dip out the access water. This in effect will increase the...

How do I cap 15mm tap connectors? Why such a low flow rate?

If both of the basins are on the same floor level it is probably due to the fact that the ensuite has high pressure mixer taps fitted (quarter turn ceramic) and the family room has low pressure mixers. If on the other hand the ensuite is on a floor above then the pressure will be lower because...
