Guide to buying new sockets, quality

TBH I havn't seen a guide in itself. Your best option is probably to ask the elctricians here what brand they prefer to use. Kinda like doing your own online survey. I myself prefer MK. It's always the brand I go to first if cost isn't too important. You can contact manufacturers directly...

Where do I put all the wires

Did you study the connections prior to disconnecting the original fitting? It sounds likely that the individual red will be the switch line, however this cannot be guaranteed. If it is, then the two reds in the twin and CPC cable will need to be connected in their own connector that is likely...

    Eastern european installation.

Maybe this topic shouldn't be discussed any further. Or divert the attention to the fact that it is likely the workers consider themselves competent but havn't retrained since coming here? However I don't know if this work is to standard from where they originally trained,. assuming they did.

Wiring a shower to a generator

It will all depend on the condition of the shower, the condition of the generator and the siting of the generator. Only when an electrician see these things will they be able to judge how much their balls will ache, and yours.

    Need to Bond Bathroom

Can you be a little more specific. Has an electrician already carried out testing in the bathroom? In what way did they say 1666ohms?

    Fire alarm systems

Well it's an old village pub, and the previous landlord allowed smoking on a 'lock in'. So the regulars may encourage it to the new landlord. Just an observation of mine really. I'd rather have heat alarms installed instead of them removing them if they go off.

Doubt the DNO were involved, as the seal dissapears. How can someone consider themselves competent to fill in these certs when they do this kinda thing.

    Fire alarm systems

Well I provisionally have planned a 4 zone system. With high-heat detector in kitchen, 2 x heat detector in bar/dining area and 2 smokes (1 upstairs and 1 in chiller/cellar area. With a call point at the kitchen escape and back door.

    Fire alarm systems

Digging up this old thread, but it's on topic. I am putting an estimate together for a full public house refurb. It currently has no emergency lighting and no smoke/fire alarms. So my question is will it need a whole new fire alarm system? Instead of interlinked smokes? I am under the...
