Joining chrome waste pipe to PVC

Well what I would do is make a template with a piece of thin plywood or even hardboard will do if you have nothing else. Just drill a hole thru the template the same size as the one you want to drill in the concrete and then use that by standing on it and drilling thru the hole to give you a...

Stop Cock - Flap outside house help!

How big is the plastic cap you are talking about? If it is about 30-40mm across it could be a turnable valve-if it it 75-100mm ish then chances are it is some kind of cover-its not a fire hydrant cover you've looked under is it?

Stop Cock - Flap outside house help!

Well I would turn on your kitchen sink cold tap and then go and turn that plastic valve until it comes to a stop and see if it stops your tap-some of the new outside stopvalves are made of plastic and some turn very easily.

    pesky stopcock

No-stopcocks are not one way flow-they should work either way although there is a right and a wrong way, maybe the stopvalve isn't turned on properly?

    28mm o.d black pipe

In that case you will need to get an adaptor that goes from black alcathene to 15mm copper-probably 25mm alcathene but make sure you measure it,then it would be best to put a new 15mm stop valve in and connect back to your existig pipework.

    Easy question...

No-it just goes on the metal waste fitting-then the big nut goes on after what you see in the pic--there are instructions with it so you should be ok.

    28mm o.d black pipe

Sounds like alcathene, you need to get the exact outside diameter and then visit your plumbing merchants and get a fitting to repair it-where is it leaking from?

    Easy question...

Yes it goes underneath the basin and it is chamfered so the end of it goes into the hole in the ceramic basin-you use the washers it supplies with it-saves messing with lots of silicon.

Sooey beat me to it. :D

    Easy question...

Well peronally I wouldnt use silicon and a rubber washer between the waste outlet and the basin, just silicon would do but even better I always use a washer called 'basin mate' available from plumb center and I use this on basin installs all the time now-it comes with it's own washers and...

    Shower tray traps

You could use fancy skirting board and paint it white or varnish it or trim it with plastic board, I think mira do a kit for trimming off shower trays.

    Shower tray problems

Ok-looks like you'll have to raise it then-can be a pain i know it gives quite a step up to raise it enough to clear the trap--you could always mark out the floor and cut out the floorboarding and a little bit of the joist just to lower it as much as possible.

    Shower tray problems

Can you not turn the tray so the waste doesnt come out over the joist?

    leek under basin bathroom

Mr purton, if you go to plumb center, they sell a big rubber washer called a 'basin mate', about a quid, if you put one of these on and follow the instructions that come with it you will not get a leak--or a leek  ,they are chamfered so they fit into the waste opening really well when you...

    Correct Bayonet fitting for hob

You can actually connect a hob with a flexible hose if the manufacturers instructions say it's ok. If it doesn't then its got to be semi or rigid-personally I always go for semi-rigid.

    Correct Bayonet fitting for hob

[/url] Them bayonet fittings are too bulky in tight places-you can get a micro point bayonet connector that is a lot smaller and takes up less space but you need the hose to suit as well. Are you sure that the manufacturers instructions allow for a flexible connection as most hobs these...
