    If the heating system is wired correctely it is not possible for the pump to remain running when the spur fuse blows. are you sure that the fuse you refer to is the one for the electrical supply to the heating system?.

    It is a spring safety relief valve that used to be fitted as standard on old solid fuel boiler circuits, they are now obsolete. You will need to remove it and fit a 3/4 brass plug in it`s place if it is leaking. spraggo

    I would suspect that the oil burner motor capacitor needs renewing. When you press the reset button or when you switch the boiler on do you hear a humming noise coming from the burner or does it hesitate before it starts up. spraggo

    Your boiler contains two pumps, one for central heating and one for hot water and your symtoms indicate that the hot water pump is faulty, ei, not running at full speed. spraggo

    I would suspect that the culprit is the DOT situated above the stop cock, check that the end of the spout as shown in photo 2, is not wet. spraggo

    Spot on LearnerSpark other than the OP needs to remove the link between 3 and 4 on the boiler block. spraggo

    OK, to save any further confusion. The part that the white dial is attached to is known as the water section, Part No 011299, which obviously contains the, rubber diaphram which needs to be renewed. The cam with the spring and micro switch etc is known as the servo valve, Part No 012646...
